Swanten32Two grand is not all that much in the grand scheme. Now, shelling out over $10K on headphones...THAT is nuts. lol

Swanten32People spend worse amounts on shoes, clothes, jewelry, and other bizarre things. $2k on something like this isn't that wild by comparison. Hell, even compared to the car tuning scene, prices are much more absurd for little to no gains.

Swanten32Same way some people can shell out $300,000 on a car or 7k on an old stamp.
Because: A. They like it and B. They can afford it.

RojasTKDNot a stamp collector but I can tell you generally if an old stamp is worth 7k, that is a serious investment which is real & generally goes up on minimum average 2 times each generational owner, this doesn't factor in rarity, condition, sentiment, etc In some cases, some can be loaned &/or insured out to museums & the like for a retainer fee (usually anywhere between 10 to 30%) so the owner can actually make money from their 'old stamp' In general, stamp & coin collecting are almost as secure if not more in some cases, than investing in gold bullion, due to market stability, etc

PaganDYeah, true... but i still don't care about stamp collecting.
My point was if you not into something or passionate about something dropping X amount of money into it can seem very odd to some.
