Kershaw isn’t known for its fixed blades, but with a such a great reputation for folding knives, it’s not a wonder the company is moving into other areas. The Camp 10 machete is an outright beast for clearing brush, making kindling, chopping wood, and slashing weeds. The blade clocks in at 10 inches long and a fifth of an inch thick, giving it some serious heft. To control it, grab firmly on the rubber handle. It’s got texture for grip and measures an inch thick for a full feeling in the hand. This particular version is tan. (When the original gray version got dusty the folks at Kershaw didn’t mind the new look, so they made it happen.) As for the blade, it’s made from 65Mn carbon steel with black powder coating to protect it from wear. The included GFN sheath has a belt loop, but you can carry the machete through either of the two lanyard holes.
