TxpipelnrI never mentioned anything about personal defense. No idea where that came from. You said "I might buy a Kershaw some time if they quit using garbage steel" so I sent you a hyperlink to bladehq where they are selling a couple Kershaws in Bohler M390..which is an excellent steel.

JRussM390 is one of the best on the market at this point. A pain in the ass to sharpen, but it retains it's edge for an absurdly long time.
