kisslink Mesh Home Wi-Fi System

I would love to take a chance on this as a way of extending the range of my wi-fi, but I'm really concerned about how well supported it is. The last version (3.0.2) of both the iPhone and Android apps was released in June 2017, and that most recent Android app apparently can no longer upgrade the pod firmware. If that critical bug hasn't been fixed in 7 months -- and the only way to configure the pods is via the app -- are they still configurable with the latest iOS release? Will a future iOS release break the app? If it was clear the company still supported this system, it seems like it would be perfect for me. But what assurance do I have this isn't an orphaned product?

Anyone have a positive experience with this actual product - forget the Kickstarter thing?

Is anyone else who bought this having serious issues with it? If I go into the app and change its SSID and password it becomes unresponsive or reverts back to its factory settings. As long as I leave it in its factory setting it seems to work ok. Even in factory settings, the speed is just ok. While I get good enough speed over my entire house, the speed is half what I get from my standard router. I get 100+mbs download and upload through regular router over much of my house. I get only 50-60mbs download and upload with the Kisslink, but I get that everywhere.
