I would purchase this knife in a heartbeat if it had a frame lock insert.

Guest2I probably should have posted as a reply earlier, rather than just generally...
As I mentioned in the other post, I purchased mine in the previous drop. That drop also had the older version photos.
I am super-pleased with this knife. I really like the aesthetics, texture, colour, materials, fit and finish. A really tiny problem I had with it had to do with the feature you thought was missing - the frame lock insert. While it works and is setup excellently, my thumbnail could catch the square (non-retention/locking) edge of it during release if my nail was a little long. As I had it apart to round off that edge a little, I thought I would share some better views of the lock insert & stop bar design.

M--kThanks. I thought both functions might be integrated (in one steel piece). Seems to be popular to have the lock bar face insert and overtravel arrestor as a single part. Simple. Useful.

How it was done in the ‘olden days’ (like 10 years back? Walter Brend Marauder)

AxeguyCool. That's a good-looking knife. It doesn't look 10 years old or at all dated the way some of my older folders do.
I noticed after recently getting mine, that the Kizer AlterEgo can also potentially control the movement of the frame lock in an additional dimension. - laterally. (up/down in the pic) They cut the lock bar into its own pocket up at the end. I am sure its pretty tough to significantly move the lock bar in that direction without really trying to, but I like the detail nonetheless.

M--kHey, that is pretty slick! I like the looks but probably only heavy texters like my teenagers have the thumbs to budge the lockbar in that direction...

M--kAnd thanks again for that photo. I zoomed in and noticed the awesome milling with just a hint of texture. Enjoy it! Cheers, Brother!

The Marauder is my favourite knife. It just feels perfect and may be the only knife I never trade away. After hundreds of years of rayskin on knife handles, there still isn’t much better out there. Tragically, it cost too much to actually use, lol. So that’s what Kizers are for! (This one goes into the ground with me, sorry.)

AxeguyUh yeah... I can see why! Seeing more pics just confirms how slick that design is. I assume your "into the ground" choice of attire will include a pocket to house the right hand, tip-up carry? :)
