And since when does Massdrop “value your time”? That’s rich coming from a site whose whole business model is making you wait longer than necessary.
JDM_GTYeah, that I did not expect. I would have been ok with it if they had said “you know what, we made a mistake and put up the wrong product, we have to cancel the order because we can’t take the hit.” But that kind of weasley stuff makes my skin crawl, it’s entirely obvious what happened given the price discrepancies.
Really MD? For some reason you feel you can’t be honest with us, and that makes me wary of doing business with you.
As others have stated, I’d be fine waiting too, if it is indeed a “backorder” issue, but I’d be willing to bet it’s not. I ordered the Kizer Vanguard Sovereign, which was also backordered, but they didn’t auto-cancel everyone’s order, they gave people the option, so I’m pretty sure it’s a profit issue. And if it is, then so be it, I get it, they have a business to run, but do not make up a bullshit story and feed it to your customer, that’s how you lose them.
JDM_GTEveryone got it. Good job again, MD. My last knife order was a f.up too. How many $5 are they gonna give away? And yes, the excuse was shady, and reflects on them terribly. If you can't have the respect to tell the truth, why should we deal with you? Whoever made the decision to like should be out the door. I'm done with this place.

JDM_GTStrangely, I got that email too but since I didn't get any refund on this month's credit card statement, I checked in with them and they replied to say that this email had been sent to me by mistake, and the knife is actually being shipped to me. Go figure.
