Yes, I agree, I struggled with that, so I guess I can admit it really comes down to personally I don't like being blind-sided like that. It doesn't even come with the taco! It's a beautiful knife, and I really want one, but for now, I'm going to hold off. That's just me.
This is the second knife in the same month that has had an unexpected delay. Why?
You wait a month with no updates only to find out , wait some more.
I am considering that I may have to purchase at another site in order to get reliable service
Can we get an explanation on why this happens frequently ?
whoa hold on there. I just said I "hoped" they might do something like that. my luck regarding tis type of thing is not something you want to rely on...
We gots a problem a brew'in here boys 😎. I have as we speak a Kizer Kala in coyote Brown in my mailbox today.(wife thing doesn't know) Massdrop also reminded me winter is upon us, researched and bought a new MA-1 bomber jacket from Alpha Industries today. (wife thing doesn't know) Finally, Massdrop offers up this knife that I can't resist in blue... joined the drop.(wife thing doesn't know) In no time at all I've run up enough bills to cover one half of one of her shoes! She's gonna be pissed boys, don't hang anywhere near my mailbox today. Shit's gonna be 'sploden when she sees that knife!
BTW, I have a ton of the Kizer and Spyderco bags. They are fine, but I never use them. My Kizer bags are in the original box, which I store on a shelf. The microfiber cloths are nice too and I toss them all in a bucket filled with all sorts of them.
ScottieGI only have One Spyderco bag. And I do use it, but I agree it’s just kinda neat thing to have; that doesn’t get used much. That being said, it still adds value and I feel thats why they show it. Kinda sneaky to me If you show it but don’t include it with the purchase.
Massdrop's e-mail describes this as a hefty flipper from a "Top Designer"...
I was really excited to read about the unique perspective and sensibilities someone who designs tops would bring to knife manufacturing, but this looks to be not the case. This is instead a knife by a designer who is himself, top.
Thank you, MD, for FALSE ADVERTISING.
The bearings can wear grooves or make little dents in the liners so I'd prefer washers on a hard-use knife. You could try replacing them, though I've never done that. Honestly people are a little too obsessed with ball bearings, a nice smooth sturdy set of p-b washers is great. I have an older generation titanium Kizer with broken-in washers and it snaps open, falls shut, and has no blade play. It took a bit of breaking in to get there though.
awkYeah, I'm a big fan of pb too. Actually I was more concerned with all the gunk getting into the bearings, especially with tip up carry. I do a little ranching and there are days when there is more dirt and sand in the bottom of my pockets at days end than anything else. Did you have any problems with re-assembly...blade centering, play, etc.?
JbgmcI also received no pouch. I went back and double checked the site and absolutely no mention was made about "not" receiving the pouch as shown. I hate to admit this, but the pouch did figure in to my decision to purchase this. Not necessarily to store the knife in, but for other uses I had in mind. Definitely not a happy camper!
