Super Convenient
4.5 *s This is a great product with only a few issues. I can't do half stars so I'm rounding up. Please do not let the fact that I didn't give it a perfect score dissuade you from purchasing. I just want to give a well-rounded review.
Pros:
8 Bays
NiMH AND Li-ion batteries
NiMH/Li-ion Simultaneously
Power cord keeps it away from the plug
Individually controlled charging
Cons:
Output current is 650mA across the board??? This is a fast charge and burns through batteries quicker than a trickle charge
I'm not sure how it throttles the mAs as it gets to full charge as ...
Several batteries became quite warm
Experimentally, one water-damaged NiMH battery got quite hot in this charger (my other charger refused to charge it)
No control over the charging process.
4-bar LED shows charge level but it's not totally clear to me that the charge process is over when the 4th bar is first lit. I'm guessing solid 4 bars means 100% but that's a guess.
Overall, I really love this product. I have chargers with more control but they don't charge Li and NiMH simultaneously. I would definitely recommend this charger.
