Product Description
Designed to give both you and your sleeping pad a break after a long day of hiking or traveling, the Klymit Rapid air pump helps extend the life of your pads by reducing interior condensation caused by breathing. To use the pump, just attach the valve to your pad, shake the bag to capture air inside it, and begin to roll the bag down toward the valve Read More
TortoiseThunderIt's more than that. It keeps moisture out of the pad and after a long day it's a quick way to fill up a pad. The bag does double duty as a stuff sack
TortoiseThunderWhen I go camping, it's with my wife and two kids. Using a pump sack to inflate 3-4 pads is a huge time saver and much more pleasant for me, the chief lungs of the family.
Why is shipping to Australia for the much larger sleeping pad just $3:50 vs $13 for this much smaller and lighter package?
The similar pillow is just $3 shipping as well.
Why don't Massdrop do the members a favour and add this as an option when ordering the sleeping pads - after all they are meant to be used for them.
That way the shipping cost becomes reasonable for international shipping.
jrickardsAnnoyingly, the Klymit valve is slightly wider than the Thermarest valve. There would be ways (tape or tubing) to add girth to the Thermarest valve to make it compatible.
ConsumerAdvocateThanks! I couldn't find a video of this Massdrop product in action. I'm considering doing some little videos to help Massdrop, with all the products I now have.
I am using Neo-air but I made a nice inflator (from Youtube) out of a Reynolds oven bag- turkey size and a one and a half inch long piece of plastic tubing from the hardware store. The tubing size just needs to slide over the valve. Put the corner of the bag through the tubing, nip off the end, roll the edge back over the outside of the tubing half way and secure with electrical tape. Tiny, light. cheap.
I have been looking for a way to keep the insulation in my Klymit pad dry, which a real problem when using breath to inflate in cold weather. This is not the answer. The one way valve works well, but they need a different shape for the sac. This one is too long an narrow to get a decent amount of air into prior to rolling. I am going to try cutting it to about an arm's length so that I can use my arm to open the sac from top to bottom, but will probably toss it if that doesn't help.
BennyTOther option is to get interested people from the same place e.g. Sydney and buy it together and collect once it arrives. $21 shared by e.g.4 or 5 people is much more reasonable.
