Hey guys, anybody interested in the Klymit Splash 25 should be sure to check out the review I just posted. Link here: https://www.massdrop.com/talk/9565/beta-testing-the-klymit-splash-25. It's a great little day pack.
Received without a hip belt. Sent message to support, got a we're busy now reply, 3 days ago. :(
Currently selling mine (brand new and unused, with tags), if anyone's interested: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292565512937
Has this drop shipped yet?
Shipping estimated for 5/18 but it's 5/27 now. Any updates?
Is the valve issue fixed yet?
I recently bought this pack and I love it. For those of you that are used to using a hydration bladder, don't immediately dismiss this pack. I attached 2-750ml Hydrapak Softflasks to the shoulder straps and they give me 1.5l capacity with the same functionality. Since they collapse as you drink from them, you don't get the sloshing sound of a water bottle as you walk. The inflation valve that came with my pack leaked badly after a few uses, but I replaced it with a standard inflation valve from eBay for 99 cents, and I've had no problems since. Sure my pack still gets sweaty but it's more manageable with this pack.

Is it raining where you? This has become my commute pack for the rainy season. Makes me feel confident biking to work and taking transit even when I have my laptop, earbuds, lunch, papers and books in it.
Anyone has experience biking, motorcycling with one of these? I'd use one to carry some camera gear, but it seems pretty long and might hit the back of my motorcycle seat. Could anyone chime in?
My Splash 25L arrived today and looks decent enough for the price point, however, the pump/air suspension system is defctive; it will not hold air. The pump valve leaks air and I cannot see a way to fix this issue.

I often go on overnight or weekend hikes where I need to cross some medium size bodies of water, creeks streams and rappel down the odd waterfall. I have been lookimh for a piece of kit like this for a while as until now I have been lowering my pack down on dry land when possible or using survival bags to keep it dry. I am giving this a go.
Will this backpack fit a 15 inch computer?
rylivin
The external dimensions when full are 26 x 11 x 9 inches so I think it might fit just ok.

I still would love to see a larger Klymit pack (alternatively a moderately priced heavy duty cuben fiber would be great)...I'm in the market for a 55+L pack and would probably give it a shot should it drop. I'm a long distance hiker (looking to drop weight) and these day and weekend packs just wouldn't cut it.

While I appreciate the reply I have long since bought a nice UL backpack (I ended up with a HMG 3400 Southwest in black and couldn't be happier with it). I'm honestly glad that the Motion 60 didn't drop before I needed one to finish my thru-hike because I would have likely purchased it and I doubt that it would have performed as well as my HMG and would have required a pack cover (which is actually a big deal for me since I lost one in a snowstorm somewhere in ME during the first leg of my hike and subsequently drowned a large portion of my gear).
P.S.: maverick.twotwentythree is my old account (I must have changed the user name or lost login info and created a new one).

No worries, didn't even notice the post date (new to this commenting thing for pack equipment, just starting to get into it) Glad it worked out for you
I bought one Klymit Waterproof Pack, the quality is not suitable for trekking, material is not durable enough for a trek.
Looks very interesting, at the discounted price may be worth a try. I concur with some of the things I have read on this pack and off kickstarter, 2 daisy chains down the right and left of the pack instead of straight down the middle would have made this an instant deal for me to make it versatile for variety of activities for a dry backpack versus the higher price for say cuben fiber models.
For me I can see it being useful for a day trip on my packraft, day hike in anticipated wet conditions/area. But securing a water bladder/tubing, additional storage would take some modification. I am interested due to the air system to play with that and make modifications to make it more functional for long hikes, overnight & multi-night trips as an already lightweight moving to ultralight backpacker.
What about offering in different colors? I would dig the green color,
At the current price and for their unique concept, it is an interesting piece of kit. I have both the Motions from a few years ago that I stripped down for specific uses. For my intended purposes they both work well with the 35 L being a great pack. I enjoy carrying that one with and without the airframe. The airframe on the old models requires removing the pack to effectively access the pump bulb to make adjustments. The new models throughout the lineup have moved the bulb to an easier access location. The integrated airframe, sleek design, and ease of adjustment almost have me sold. I see it being a very useful pack for anything from water sports to photography to bikepacking............. The Splash looks like a better thought out design compared to the Patagonia Stormfront series, that's the only thing I have seen that is similar. There's not a lot online about this one that I could find. I remember the Kickstarter not long ago and now the low price on Massdrop, I might just have to see what the Splash is all about.
The air frame thing looks pretty interesting. I'm on the fence leaning yes.
I'm not a backpacker/hiker, though I'm interested. I'm liking the price for my first foray.
Can any experienced backpackers weigh in?

25 Liters is an awfully small size for backpacking. This is a day pack at best. With the right ultralight gear setup, you could maybe do a single night in warm weather with this pack, but the cost of that gear would be pretty high. Even in that scenario, space for food would be a significant limiting factor.
Dry bag backpacks are really meant primarily for use with paddling trips (kayaking and canoeing), serving double duty by keeping gear dry on the water, and also working as a pack to facilitate carrying gear while portaging over dry land. They aren't generally known for being lightweight or comfortable.
This pack does seem like it attempts to bridge the gap between dry bag backpacks and regular backpacks, so perhaps it can be usable as a day pack for hiking without much discomfort.

The valve where the air tube goes into the pack hits right between the shoulders... Uncomfortable.
