New from Klymit, the Static V Junior is designed for younger, smaller campers—and is just as suitable for adults looking to shave weight by switching to a three-fourths-sized pad. It weighs an easy 13 ounces, inflates in 6 to 12 breaths, and compresses to a 3-by-8-inch cylinder into the included stuff sack. Separate inflate and deflate valves replace the traditional two-way valve system, making the Junior simpler to set up and pack away unassisted.
Klymit President Cory Tholl says, “The idea for a junior sleeping pad was born from the desire to bring our children along on our family adventures.” The Junior unrolls to a 50.4-inch length and measures 23 inches across. Otherwise, it has many of the features we loved in previous models: an ergonomic V-chamber design to minimize air movement and heat loss, body-mapping technology with 2.5 inches of cushion off the ground to improve comfort, and dynamic side rails to keep you centered through the night.
