IMO this is a very good deal as a starter package setup. Pretty much same hammock as an ENO doublenest, but love the straps through the end channels which should add some comfort. Hammock itself isn't so much a deal vs the ENO, but with the tarp it is. Gotta give Klymit some love for including the hammock straps, as well as lines and stakes with the tarp.
p.s. I'm a long time hammock user; my setup weighs a good bit less and is larger, but I also spent twice as much.
In the description it states " it’s compatible with Klymit’s Hammock V and Insulated Hammock V sleeping pads". What exactly does 'compatible' mean? I already own a double hammock from another manufacturer that my Insulated V fits. Is there special consideration in the design of the Traverse Double that is going to allow my Insulated V to fit 'better'? If so, I'll join this drop in a heartbeat...
romelwellWhile I don't personally own this hammock or the pad, strictly from looking at the pictures it doesn't look like this hammock is double layered meaning it doesn't have a sleeve for slipping in a pad. My guess is that by "compatible" they simply mean that it can be used with the hammock and will fit properly vs. overlapping or shifting out. Honestly, the Ultimate Hammock drops look better than this one. Sounds like they are almost identical except the Ultimate ones are about half as much.
