Been a double edged shaver for decades and have fallen for "the best shave cream" BS and spent probably 4 figures on promises that never materialize. Have been using Shikai Body Wash for 5 years now. I just spread it on my face directly from the bottle and have NEVER had a closer more comfortable shave. It also has the best ingredients. Eight bucks for a bottle that will last about 6 months to a year. All this fee fee stuff is crap. Save your green for the green. Boo ya.
Yippie! I finally joined a drop. aka I paid more than it costs on Amazon and it take over a month to ship! Boy am I glad I signed up for this. I am definately joining other drops so I can overpay and nearly forget I even ordered something.
Funny... I know for sure I got in a long conversation about shaving soaps in this drop months ago.... Now it's gone.
Is MD editing/cutting discussions?
I buy cheap shaving soap and it seems fine, but I would strongly recommend making your own shave oil. 2-3 parts castor oil to 1 parts olive oil, then add some drops of essential oil to your preference. very beneficial and dirt cheap.
Still $16.00 at Amazon...The drop also doesn't list how many are needed to get the $14.99 price, which I'm guessing most will be okay paying $1.00 more to have it arrive in a few days, rather than weeks or months.
nismo270rYow, I see it at $18 CAD at at Amazon Canada, which, given potential for free shipping, is quite a bit less.
I wish this were a better deal, might consider it...
The good folks at MaggardRazors.com have hundreds of premium-quality shaving soaps and creams in the sub-$20 range, from known brands, with customer reviews, so this is not a "good deal" in the sense that it is a good price for shaving soaps. It might be a good price for this soap, but who's to know? This isn't a partnership with one of the known British soapmakers like DR Harris or Truefitt & Hill, it's a mystery brand. I will pass and stick with Kraken from Mickey Lee Soapworks ($14.00) until I get bored with the scent.
ashtuesdayThanks for the tip trying some stuff from Mickey Lee (run out of CA to boot, nice). Got the charcoal of this Knightsbridge shaving crean on Amazon (same price) to mix it up from the cheap shave soap puck I've been using and not a huge fan of the scent which is a bit overbearing for a cream imo.
ashtuesdayThanks again for this tip - actually got some of the charcoal flavor of this drop (from amazon cuz cheaper/faster) and was nonplussed. Have been using Mickey Lee's Kraken/Réunion and haven't looked back.

Yet another example of Massdrop trying to leverage its marketing power and sell you something you could get cheaper and/or quicker for more money and a longer shipping time. Do your research folks!
I got the charcoal one and I like it. I had a soap from MaggardRazors.com before that. I'd say it's comparable but I'm not super experienced. I might get more
