Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Another thing I like about this is the RCA in/out along with the 1/4 heaphone output. I have this in line between my powered speakers. It not only adds a little warmth to the sound, but it also provides me with a convenient volume knob. I do most of my listening on headphones still (generally HD6XX).
The Little Dot is cheap. Versatile. Quality. Absolutely love this guy and for the price can't do anything but recommend it.
I am also planning on using RCA Outs for connection with amped (active) speakers.
The manual of the headphone amp device says the below plus suggests you should power up the amp linked to the pre-amp outs first and wait a minute.
Pre-Amplifier output impedance: 600 ohms Pre-Amplifier Gain: 3-10x (also controlled via gain switches) Pre-Amplifier Voltage: 10V RMS Pre-Amplification circuit includes both driver and power tubes
I am a bit confused, is 600OHM ok for active speakers? Are speakers not 4-8Ohms normally, is feeding them though 600 Ohms is fine? What active speakears are you using? I am thinking of using Q Acoustics 3020i, Audioengine A5+ or KRK RP5 G3/G5 Black. Last think I want is to burn something ;)
Do you get sound off both headphones and pre-amp? If not, do you need to unplug headphones to make the pre-amp rca outs to work please?
Thanks for any help here! My Sound Blaster Z has already got any outs I can use for front speakers taken so that's my only way.
