Among the oldest shoemakers in England, Loake 1880 is still run today—five generations after its founding—by the Loake family. Like its founders did in the 19th century, the company constructs each pair of shoes in its 1880 line using a Goodyear welt, which allows the shoes to be resoled Read More
I just joined the drop. Would be great if we could have more colours to choose from, such as past drops by Allen Edmond's Sand and Snuff Chukkas. Thanks.
I was excited to see these Loake Kemptons available on Massdrop, especially since this was a drop I specifically requested. Unfortunately sizes 11.5UK and 12UK are unavailable so I cannot participate in the purchase. Unavailable sizing/options seem to be a consistent issue with Massdrop. It seems like it should be a problem that could be resolved. I hope the future drops of Loake Kemptons include a full run of sizing.
@TomasV I wear a 14 US but my larger concern is finding a last that I could test here in the US to see how the boot may feel on my feet. I purchased the Allen Edmonds Chukkas and, while a beautiful shoe, they never felt right on my foot. I have worn them for less than fifteen minutes, on carpet, in my own home and since then they've been sitting in their shoe bags on a shelf. So the tl;dr what would you suggest I do in an attempt to avoid disappointment if I wish to order these boots? Thank you!
GringoGrandeI have the chukka 2.0s from a season or two ago from AE, and they only get more and more comfortable. In the beginning I didn't look forward to wearing them, but now I wear them a few days a week because they've molded to my foot so well. I'm a 12D for reference.
GringoGrandeShoes like this have to be broken in through wear. Sometimes they fit right out of the box but usually not. Unless the fit is really bad (like a full size to big or small) wear them a day or two a week and after several wears they should be good to go.
Would buy in a heartbeat if they shipped to Australia. Honestly Loake need to rethink their policy of not shipping internationally. They have lost at least 3 sales from me so far.
FYI these boots are not ever made by Loake in a G fitting, but I am told the 026 last is relatively wide.
On the 026 last, Loake has an F fitting (medium) and a G fitting (wide). Does this drop allow specifying if we want F or G? I don't see that option anywhere, so checking.
