if you could develop packable gender neutral (or a different cut for each gender) board shorts for swimming, then you'd have something everyone could use. Also, there aren't any good board shorts past L in Women's anywhere.

Update: Luke's has refunded me the $153 from my order dating back to Jan. 2017. No apology. No thank's for your patience last year. No thanks for you past orders. No kind words. No Customer Service.
I can say without a doubt they NEVER would have refunded me if not for my active complaints on this message board. Drawing attention to their fraud. They had long since stopped responding to my emails without every attempting to refund me. Not until they saw my complaints on this board. Only then did they take action and respond.

VanhaloOk, so before the current situation/status. I don't know what may have changed or not over the last month but ordering from his site has been shut down for a little while now and I've heard that email reply has been that he is not accepting orders (may be a situational item thing, though).

I presume that MassDrop will provide refunds if this drop fails. Can Massdrop weigh in on that and confirm.

Should Massdrop be more responsible with the companies they do business with on our behalf.
Massdrop are you paying attention Or just trying to make a buck ?
Should we be hearing from Massdrop on this issue ?

CzechClownMassdrop should have chimed in by now. IMHO. Plenty of people have asked questions, or made comments about Luls current state of affairs. And the serious problem of not making people their custom ordered gear, nor refunding their money. I feel it is a very bad decision to do this drop, seeing as hundreds of people have been nor given promised gear, nor refunds. They just keep digging themselves into a deeper hole. How Luke can get these churned out for a drop and not the items folks ordered from his site is perplexing to say the least. Massdrop - despite any requests you should not be doing a LULs drop until EVERY SINGLE person who ordered either has their item, or has been fully refunded. Until then you are making the problem worse. Someone who doesn't know about people not getting orders might go to the site after liking the shorts and order gear. Where they stand a very good chance of not ever seeing their order, or ever seeing their money again. Please be responsible Massdrop.

Update: Mark from Luke's responded to my email today and said he was going to send a check for my $153 refund dating back 15+ months ago. Will report back in a few days.

Personally, I’d much prefer to see Massdrop promoting cottage manufacturers who are known to make quality gear AND are know to be reliable - let’s see some more drops from Tarptent and Borah Gear! Or maybe Massdrop can find a manufacturer to work with to make the wold’s first ultralight bear canister? Point is, there are better partners out there for MD to be working with.

Just an update. Luke’s felt the need to respond here on Massdrop forum to repeat the lie that they sent me a check. Yet, days later they STILL have not responded to my email providing them my address AGAIN to send the check.
About these shorts. Luke’s contracts these out to a shop outside his own. I think this is the only way he can produce them and generate some income. Too bad his actual shop can’t fulfill his past orders. They obviously spend that money. Since they refuse to issue refunds for past orders. This is called FRAUD!!!

I too placed an order (nearly $100 total) with Luke's Ultralite over a year ago and have received nothing in return. I was in email contact with Luke intermittently until about Dec. 2017, but there has been no response since. I'm aware that he's had a variety of health issues and other challenges & I had been incredibly patient, but understanding & compassion has its limits. From a business perspective, it's simply unacceptable.

Surprised there isn't an apology or at least some explanation from Luke's. You figure they'd make an effort to clarify what happened, how it was fixed, and why it won't be an issue going forward. Some attempt at damage control to start rebuilding credibility. Their silence in and of itself is a concern..

Interesting discussions on Backpacking Light. I have several pieces of Luke's gear from a few years back and it is fine stuff. That said, this situation is bad and appears not to be improving. The comments from WIRELESSNESS are not without merit and he apparently has a lot of company.
