I'm pretty disappointed to see Luke's Ultralite on Massdrop taking group orders when they have still NOT completed my rain jacket order from JANUARY or even responded to the dozen or so emails I have sent asking for an update. Yes I know they had some troubles and I remained patient but this is beyond poor service. I've paid in full and have been waiting close to 9 months with not so much as an email response!
Before I saw this Drop I was still being patient and giving Luke a break. I just find it unfathomable the Luke would take a Massdrop Group order BEFORE fulfilling his already paid for long outstanding orders. Clearly they need the money. I bet these shorts are a high margin fast turnaround item for them.
wirelessnessI hear you, and I actually just talked to Luke via email. I think he is reaching out to everyone one that has outstanding orders. As I understand it, these shorts are made by a different group of employees, may be part of the restructuring that was mentioned at one point. I have faith Luke will get everyone's orders filled, and I emphasized that for me personally that if I was kept in the loop it will be easier to work with, but after months of silence and then seeing this drop it was a bit of a shock.
I hope he reaches out to your too, if not, shoot him an email.
Yeah. His stuff is top notch and I want to get a few things but he's been through a lot in the past year and I just wonder how this is going to go. I don't want this to sound like I'm bashing him or his stuff.
beardedHangerI know what you mean, and I understand his position and am glad he's on the mend. However, from a customer service point of view, I should have been notified a long time ago that my order was going to be delayed and ask if I would like a refund or if I wanted to wait. That never happened.
Luke is a great guy, I've talked to him before and he was very helpful. I like the gear I have gotten from them and was really excited for the stuff I ordered. Mistakes were made though along the way. Especially when I have called. asked about it on FB, and sent messages to info email -- which responded saying someone would get back to me and never did -- multiple times and Luke's email. I hate to pursue a charge back through the C/C and Paypal, or legal action if those don't work, but as far as I can tell the lights on and no one is home and they've had my money for 6 months. Pretty excessive with zero communication since. I don't mean to be bashing on them, and I truly hope things pick up for them and it gets better for the company, but as a consumer I have to do what's right for me at this point and I'm kinda hoping someone from the company will see these messages and respond to me finally.
I STILL have NOT been refunded by Luke’s for the rain jacket I ordered from them well over a year ago. Despite multiple promises that a check had been sent, no check ever arrived. They stopped returning my emails. They only responded when I complained on Massdrop. AVOID!!!
Update: After my complaints here Luke’s FINALLY sent me a check For $153. No apology. In fact they still managed to be condescending.
They sent the check around the time of my previous comments but I’m just now reporting back. Sorry for the delay.
If I order a pair of shorts and NEVER receive them is Massdrop going to refund my money. I wondering just who at Massdrop doesn’t read the numerous negative post on BPL and other forums about Luke’s Ultralite. I guess Massdrop either isn’t in touch with the backpack or ultralight community or they know something we all don’t know about Luke’s. if a company like Luke’s has proven to be very unreliable , why would a company like Massdrop work with them ?
I'm sorry you're 1 of the victims. I checked BPLs forum on this, and he's asking for checks as payment now, as those are unable to be refunded to someone once the payee cashes or deposits it. That's shady. As soon as you go to place an order they ask for you to mail a check. I know he's kicked out of PayPal, maybe credit cards got tired of paying out refunds. Your only recourse once someone has cashed your check is mail fraud, and then only if you mailed it. I'm rather disappointed MD is doing a LUL drop when so many people are owed money or their item they ordered EONS ago.
VajtagalDON'T DO BUSINESS WITH LUKES.
I WAS ABLE TO GET MY MONEY BACK USING PAYPAL.
I HAD ACTUAL EMAIL CONVERSATIONS WITH HIM BEFORE I PLACED AN ORDER...SO IT WAS ACTIVE FRAUD.
OBVIOUSLY HE HAS GONE BACK TO THE 1990S EBAY MODEL BECAUSE PAYPAL WON'T ALLOW HIM TO USE THEIR SERVICE ANYMORE.
Massdrop should stop working with Luke’s UL.
Even if this drop got completed and everyone got the shorts, It would still be not great. Hell, I want some stuff from LUL but I’m not an idiot and I also feel for those ripped off folks. This company is dead to me.
Lukes has has ripped off so many customers it’s insane. How many different, unrelated people have to say the same thing about this company to make folks/Massdrop/whoever avoid it?
after reading all the comments from prior MD promotions of this product, and being female, I instead bought the fabric and made my own laundry shorts.... just my size. 1 ounce or actually a bit less.
I'm dissapointed seeing this on here with all of the recent reports of Luke defrauding his customers. I've read he's struggling with some personal issues, and as a person I hope he gets through his hard times, but my confidence (and I'm sure many others) in the "Luke's Ultralite" business is gone.
I’ve been ripped off by this seller/manufacturer. The local police (Delaware Ohio) have been involved. This seller has been banned from PayPal for failing to provide the products that were paid for. This seller has used other platforms to take money from unsuspecting buyers. DO NOT BUY FROM LUKES ULTRALIGHT
Please do not get suckered in like I, and so many others have. Let my loss be your lesson
