I really liked the light when the tail switch was working. I have not yet found another tail switch. And now mass drop is selling the blue titanium for the same price and I’d much rather have the blue than the regular color .
I read where some people we’re going through batteries like crazy, I wouldn’t know about that because I use Eneloop rechargeables and they seem to hold up for a pretty good amount of time.
Great piece of workmanship. Solid and built to last. It's not going to blind you but the light is powerful enough for everyday carry. One drawback, the switch, if hit just right in your pocket can turn the light on and you don't know it. I've had this a couple of years and it has happened several times. Most often I've pulled it out of my pocket as it's attached to my keys and I noticed it was on. Once, somehow it drained the battery entirely. Other than that, it's great and I literally carry it every day.
This is a beautiful flashlight, with a good range of lumens
This flashlight is beautifully made. I also like the brightness capabilities relative to it's size (one AAA battery). Most importantly, if you do not like to read directions, you must put the battery in it and let it set for about 20-60 minutes for the rear switch to work properly, as it either has a battery ofr a capacitor in it, that must be charged for the flashlight to work properly. A lot of complaints I've seen are due to people not understanding this. Once charged, the three lumen levels work well.
The Flashlight itself is great - I have the Nichia version with a very beautiful and warm light. It is not so bright than the bluish LEDs, but very natural.
However - the tail switch died in less than a year now. Without much use or any heavy drops. I read about this before, so I can not really recommend it.
UPDATE: Found a video that deals with this problem on a different lumintop flashlight:
youtu .be/O_PosvfRD6A (please remove the space after 'youtu' to get to the video, massdrops 'preview' function somehow scrambled the whole rewiew)
Used a tweezer to slightly twist the spring clockwise - voila it works again.
Does not speak for Lumintop though.
UPDATE 2: Flashlight failed again. This time I disassembled the tail cap and found a battery inside which is not replaceable... (?)

... but probably recharges itself. It was at 0,9V. After putting in an alkaline AAA battery and waiting a few minutes, the flashlight was working properly again. Maybe this is the reason for many people complaining about battery draining...(?) However - I would not recommend this flashlight again, exept with a more reliable tail switch. Or maybe it is designed to work with alkaline batteries only...(?)
Poor mode navigation - no instructions - very low poor brightness/clarity
This product not only does not perform - they failed to provide even basic operating instruction - this light doesn't respond to any clicking pattern other than off and on.
As a flashlight it's fine ... good even.
However, the lanyard hole, that I do use, is too small for even the tiny split ring it comes with. I can't find anything else to fit through there either.
The manufacturer doesn't apparently like to respond, even to tell you, tough luck.
That may not matter to you. But if it might, don't bother with this one.
I ordered three of the lights with the Nichia LEDs and the lights all came with Cree LEDs. I contacted Drop as soon as I tested the lights and I then requested an exchange. Drop refused to correct their mistake so I'm done with ordering anything from this site. I should have read the reviews that warned about all the problems people have had with these lights and the lack of support from Drop. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
Samantha here, thank you for contacting Drop Community Support! I am sorry to hear about the different light sources and I will do what I can to help.
