RayFI'm not entirely certain what I will do with all the theoretical savings I have accumulated not spending money on Watch Drops… No matter, Ray; I am not the hero of this Discussion section, anyways. Heck, I'm barely sidekick material on Watches [insert brand and model here] Discussion turf. Hmmm… What Drop can I not buy in on before its time runs out…? Where to not spend my money...? Decisions, decisions…

An AD was supposed to hold a limited edition SAR in bronze for me... Special strap, etc. Beautiful. I called back at the specified time with credit card sweat on my shaking hands and "oops" they gave it to someone they thought was me. I will never have that bronze SAR. It hurts to see the regular SAR... Thank you for letting me cry my man-tears; I'll be okay… *sniff*

You're better off with a Marathon GSAR(automatic version of the TSAR). Almost certainly more durable, and certainly more visible at night since it uses tritium... Marathon also has NATO stock numbers and ratings so their watches can be worn if you're a government worker.... Unlike this company.

MonarchcoWell at least you now know that there's more than one version of each ETA or Selita movement, so perhaps you won't make any more stupid remarks about them, but who knows ?

Yeah, that's why it is priced at 50% of retail. Standard gray market practice. You can go to an authorized dealer and get honest to goodness stamped papers; of course those (and the accompanying watch) will cost you $2695 plus tax. What do you want to do?

Nice watch, but.. A legit SAR, field, tactical, dive watch, etc should be packing GTLS. Tritium is the standard fail safe illumination. If you dive, hunt, or do anything at night, you want tritium. If you got the bucks and want a GTLS auto, go Ball or downrev to Marathon. Just saying...

It’s very...German. Very high quality, very clean and functional design. I just can’t get the price. At around 700 this would be interesting, but at1400 for the bracelet it just doesn’t do it for me. Nice to see these kind of pieces available though.

I've got one of these with the rubber band. This is the watch I choose when I travel knowing it'll stand up to whatever I throw at it.

Since I made that comment, I've got a line on that bronze SAR and hope I get it this time. It has black indices with a luminescent dial like this:
