I bought this on the January drop, received it around mid February and it's been in my truck since, driven at least 5 times a week so used at least ten times a week. Put my phone in it today for my drive to work and about five minutes into my drive, the phone holder snapped off. With my earlier issues and now this, I'd advise staying away from this drop and getting a better quality holder.
Does this mount's bottom support brackets cover the headphone jack on an iPhone 6? Many of us use an aux cord and would need the headphone jack to be accessable.
thebelieverTwo bottom supports can swivel horizontally, either support can be swiveled in to give access to headphone jack, or charging port etc. This phone cradle holder with swivel supports are used in all Macally car mount accessories. More graphic illustration can be seen in URL, http://us.macally.com/products/venti , just scroll down the page.
*Looks at broken louvers on recently purchased car*
*Looks at RAM ball bolted to floor*
Yeah. Those aren't made to hold any weight, even the minimal weight of a phone.
Yeah, Im not gonna put any faith in it any further. It never pulled my slats out but it often just flopped off from the slats despite being clamped AND taped down eventually. It's a $20 waste of cash.
EmmEffYou know I get massdrop is a business and I suppose certain items aren't available everywhere. However this seems like a stupid thing to do just to make an extra buck or two on people who don't research the pricing.
This product does not react well to heat it seems. I own 2 of these and the one in my wife's car is fine (stored in the garage) but mine had the clamp warp into a y shape until it wouldn't hold on to anything (I then widened it until it was grabbing two vent strakes, warping them in the process) and then the post finally broke.
LeeksterHey, if you have any issues with warranty replacement, let me know. I didn't actually use that part of my mount and would be willing to give it to you if you will cover the shipping cost. Just sayin'.
I have many phone mounts, I have this one. It's my current favorite. It holds my S7 Edge, so I'm sure it'll fit an iphone. Works well, and holds the phone securely.
