Never used Gateron switches, hoping to try one. I love Cherry mx Brown, any suggestions? Gateron Brown or Gateron Clear?

LobbJust got a reply below that Gateron Clears are linear and VERY light. How are they comparable to Cherry MX browns?

LobbGateron Browns are pretty much better versions of Cherry MX Browns. They are my favorite switches.

LobbI was going to ask the same thing. Are both the Gateron and Cherry switches backlit? I have the 68 key Magicforce with Outemu Browns, I'm guessing they're similar in operation as well?
LobbGateron switches are one of if not the only Cherry MX clone that is actually regarded as BETTER than Cherry MX. In comparison, the contact points on Cherry switches have lots of holes that can make them scratchy. Whereas the cleaner contact points on the Gateron switches will make them smoother. (Among several other factors like the size of the contact point, lubrication, switch type, and etc:)
So you will not be disappointed going from Cherry MX to Gateron.
Stay far away from anything that says "Kailh" though. Those clones are scratchy and awful.
johnchanning1Yes, both Gateron & Cherry MX switches have translucent top housings that allow LED backlighting.
Outemu browns are a clone of Cherry MX switch that are still decent, but not necessarily as highly regarded as Cherry MX or Gateron switches. Still far better than Kailh though.
