Love this bag. I have two smaller ones and a large on. At first I wasn't sure how useful it is. But I used to take music gear to gigs or work, camera tripod, small mic stands. Really well made.
Comfortable bag when it's not overloaded. Pretty good at carrying my:
radio
normal sized moleskine journal
16.9oz water bottle
first aid kit or IFAK
tourniquet
USB Battery pack
sweatshirt/windbreaker
shemagh
baseball cap
sunglasses
gum
gloves
micro 4/3 olympus om-d e-m5 camera w/ 12-40mm f2.8 lens
A little wider would be good to hold my iPad mini.
One annoying thing was a zipper placement for the main compartment, would've been better if they did away w/ the double zip and used a single zip and also put the zipper at the bottom of the bag.
The way you're going to carry it, just like in the photos slung across the chest, the bag is going to be handiest if you grab from the bottom and lift it up. However, the zipper is on the top of the bag closest to your neck, furthest away from your hand.
In that case, you might as well take the entire bag off to open it if you need something, it's not exactly convenient when you need to grab an item.
Fortunately there's a good amount of molle, but it would be better if the was across the entire. the velcro patch area outside looks cool but it's not very functional. What would be useful, in terms of velcro, is if the interior was line with it. Then I could install my own organizer panel to the interior, or some internal pockets so stuff doesn't slosh around. If the flip that flops out was stiffer by including an HDPE panel or was stretch at the edges, that would've been tits to accommodate bulging items and also support itself a little better on the wearer's back.
