Adamir Marchand, for which this watch company was named, was an innovative Swiss clockmaker in the early 1900s. His great grandson Daniel started the Marchand brand to share his heritage and passion for watches Read More
For the price, this watch isn't the worst you could do, but for anyone who's serious about a mecha-quartz racing chromo, I'm still recommending the Geckota C-01 instead.
That said, the Geckota will cost you another hundred bucks, so if price is your thing, no one will blame you for sticking with this Marchand. For those with the extra cash, I invite you to compare the specs between the "looks like one" and the "real one."
C-01's specs:
"The hands and markers are a polished silver finish. Water resistant to 100m / 10atm. Individually numbered. Solid 316L stainless steel case with sunray brushed finish. Screw-down signed 'G' crown with a double O-ring seal. Dial and hands feature Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent paint. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, with AR coating. Seiko VK64 meca-quartz movement with 60 minute chronograph. 12.6mm case thickness. 22mm lug width."
Another benefit for our European members--the Geckota ships from England ;- )

I think they (Seiko etc.)have got Australia in their cross-hairs, currently lots of retailers do because of the general(not me) disposable income rate!! They tried package this at many retailers at $995 aud. but not working; at $499 aud. okay. Apparently we also have the highest rate of "ice" users in the world per head of capita!! That might explain a lot LOL. Thought I would get in before you! Anyway like I said to a retail assistant in the shop recently that the box doesn't matter I wouldn't be wearing it. But i guess they think some people like the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh1! and the only scotch I can afford needs ice in it. Been a long time since the days of Chivas Regal.

I wasn't aware of the change in ice numbers, but I wan't you to know, I'm doing my best to reestablish my personal residence as the worlds largest consumer of ice cubes. I admit that in recent months my consumption has not been up to par, but I've rededicated myself toward the goal and I'm on target to win back the title in the next quarter (if not tonight ;- )
Got mine today. I ordered the tan band but don't love it now i see it in person. Have ordered a red and black perforated leather band from watchgecko. Otherwise this is a nice watch and glad to have it in my collection.
My watch arrived yesterday, it is the perfect size for my wrist, I opted for the tan strap, which gives a different contrast from a standard black strap. Detailing is very nice, except for the second hand not lining up with the marker at 12 o'clock!
Not a bad watch. I have a 7" wrist and the leather band is almost maxed out, so if you got larger wrist, plan on switching out the strap. I was lucky with mine, dude on eBay advertised it as a Marchland and had it in the collectable figurines category. I was only bidder and got it for $25 +10 shipping. Still doesn't make up for all my "bad" watch eBay buys. :/
