There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). Up until last week, we thought we would be able to ship by June 30. Then the volcano erupted over the Aleutian islands in Alaska, stopping or delaying traffic from Asia to the US. Our shipment got bumped back by two days, just enough to put us over the FTC limit.
The good news is that the pads are in the air now and will be delivered to Klymit's HQ in Utah over the weekend. Then they'll be tested for QC and then shipped right to your home as fast as possible. Klymit has scheduled staff to handle this shipment right away for all the members who opt in over the weekend.
Either way, we are really sorry and we have tried our best to communicate the challenges. We have given everyone a significant credit for these delays. I've been right here in the discussion the whole time available for you to ask, share, vent, whatever. And we're shipping as soon as we can. I really hope you're able to see that this is one production run, and the first one that I've been a part of that has had any delay. That means that there are literally tens of thousands of on-time or early deliveries for Massdrop products in the Outdoor/Ultralight Community.
