Having a few amp dac combos this is quickly replaced but for the price not much can beat it, if you can save up though I'd recommend the jds labs element over this which they also make.

biotoxinDo you have both jds labs element and massdrop made to compare, or this is just theoretical speculation?

OleksaI've ordered both from jds but can't speak to massdrop editions , it may be worth noting that I only have one truly headset the akg massdrop k7xx and the rest are garbage like skullcandy from before I knew Good audio existed. And I generally use my element most, in spite of my high end receiver. Others complain about the big knob on top but it's one of my favorite features as it sits next to my chair along with other pc accessories so location in the setup might matter as the o2 is much smaller and meant to be in a desk tucked back maybe under the monitor, the element is meant for open space

biotoxinWhich exact model of Objective2 do you have (Standard or Moderate)? And I would appreciate if you help me with desision about correct model. Please connect: PC(laptop)->Objective2->K7XX and inform at which position is Objective2's knob volume (e.g. 9 o'clock, 12, 3, etc.) at pretty loud sound setting?

OleksaTo be clear there's no going wrong with either model of the o2 I'm only recommending a step up from it, I could also suggest tube amps like the fireflies even if they're less neutral but that's a whole different conversation. As to listening levels k7xx are easy to push, you'll definitely hit a point it's painful to listen before you max out the volume on either o2 models. If you feel like being abusive to headphones you can turn it up to max and use them like speakers. Sadly in my case that scenario is louder than my monitors max vol at equal distance.
I built one myself with a butterfly kit and sold it for enough to buy the other model from jds with a laser etched logo of an affiliate, if you plan on upgrading too more power hungry headphones then that's a consideration but if it's just k7xx either is fine. Just be sure you know if you'll want or need the rca jacks with your model .
