Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Thanks for your interest in the Objective 2! Reading through your posts, it seems clear there are some points we should clarify.
Q: Did I miss the drop? A: Nope, you did not miss the drop. We know it's confusingly structured, but having a page like this (where it looks like the drop has already happened) is the only way we can have the request button, thus letting people opt in to be notified upon launch. We're working on a better solution, but it's still a ways out.
Q: Why doesn't this have a quarter inch output? (or any other question about the design) A: Because the license NwAvGuy used to publish the O2 says it cannot be modified in any way and still be called the O2. The followup question is "Then why do other companies have O2s with different outputs and inputs?" and the answer is, as far as we can tell, they're not obeying the rules of the license. Feel free to jump in and tell us if you know better.
Q: What's different from the normal O2 from other companies? A: Nothing is different, it's the same amplifier (as required by the licensing) but it'll be more affordable. Right now the market price for an assembled O2 + power adapter + shipping (pre tax) is ~$150, this O2 (with included power supply and shipping) will cost a little less than half that amount.
Q: Is there going to be an ODAC compliment? A: There will be a complementary DAC released on Massdrop very soon. It won't be exactly the ODAC (because the ODAC is not published under the same license as the O2, a company called yoyodyne consulting in Canada owns the design) but it will meet the same needs from an audio perspective and from a design perspective (it'll fit nicely with this O2 and we should have some custom interconnects to keep your desk looking clean).
That seems to be all the questions so far but let me know if you have any others! I'll be around to answer them all : )
Finally, and we'll make this clear on the product page once this launches, but we'll probably be making some minor improvements to the front panel before shipping. We'll post images as soon as we can, but essentially we're looking at removing most of the wording and replacing it with symbols and we're also considering using matte metal (like the rest of the case) instead of the brushed metal front panel you see now.
What do you think of those changes? Symbols vs text, brushed vs matte. It seems pretty clear from our perspective, but this is your chance to be heard : )
Again, thanks for your support so far and I can't wait to see this take off on Friday. 204 requests already, prepare yourselves.

"NwAvGuy listed the Neutrik 1/4" headphone jack and suggested RCA jacks in the original O2 bill of materials. These items are presented as optional components for a desktop style assembly." "The LE O2+ODAC is built on the same circuit board, using the same Bill of Materials as O2. Based on Stefan's and our interpretation of the CC BY-ND 3.0 license, NwAvGuy requested no modifications to the schematic, BOM, or PCB layout in order to ensure consistent and objective performance from all assemblies. An LE O2+ODAC requires slightly re-positioned components (see above DIY guide). This is gray area at worst, and maintains the technical requirements of the license" - John @ JDS Labs
The LE being the model with the 1/4" jack and the RCA jacks
Is there a possibility of choosing your gain settings for this amp? IE 1x/2.5x 1x/3.5x 2.5x/6.5x (current option)
I would be more inclined to buy with lower gain options as I have been reading a lot about how this pairs with other headphones
