What is everyone's current set up on DAC and Amp? I currently just got the Schiit Jotunheim DAC/AMP combo and just need my 6XX to go with it. I have customed balanced cable on the way and gonna purchase the new LCD2 classic from Audeze next week.
K3controlI think the mass drops O2 would be a good starter amp for a single end 1/4 but you still need a DAC to go with it. They have O2 Massdrop dac as well and it comes down to how much you wana get the most sound and performance out of your headphones.
The Schiit stack for Magni and Modi would be another choice as well for a starters dac n amp.
jah_offisah808Lol dude this is hilarious. I bought a Schiit Jotunheim with the DAC recently as well. AND have a custom balanced cable on the way. I’m literally in the same boat, just waiting on the headphones :D
chastrengthLol awesome bruh! Hope it sounds awesome when you get em too! You might to the Schitt Wryd or a Audioquest Jitterbug to clean up the USB crap noise.
chastrengthI used to have the Audeze El 8 closed back, Audioquest Nighthawk Semi open back, and Vmoda Cross M100 and the Corss fade Wireless 2. Also had a Oppo HA2 dac and i still have the LH labs V2 infinity dac. Sold all those bitches and getting new open back with higher Impedance and upgrading to balanced. I was at the beginning level about 2 years now I'm moving more into the high end shit lol
jah_offisah808You're saying there's USB crap noise with the Jotunheim?? I distinctly bought the Jotunheim to eliminated any sort of noise or interference. I haven't even been able to use it yet because these 6xx's are my first pair of good cans and just got the shipping notification yesterday. Is there really a noticeable noise issue with the USB in the Jotunheim? I am at the beginning level of all of this but I'd like to think I did enough research and shopping to say I will be landing on my feet jumping into this scene.
chastrengthNo what I'm saying is that by default theres always gonna be some kind of unwanted noise or distortion in any USB from a computer. Look up the jitterbug at audioquest or the wyrd for USB interface on schiit.com
jah_offisah808Okay good. Where would you recommend finding a quality USB cable? I actually emailed Schiit about that and they said any old USB cable would be good but I thought that sounded questionable.
MokumManNice with tube amp and the OPPO HA SE is good one with the latest ESS 9018 Q2M sabre dac that support DSD quad rate. Used to have the 1st generation. You can go both mobile and home hifi audio!
DenonFanboyI'm currently using a audioquest carbon USB cable big difference from a regular USB. Also i have the jitterbug and makes sound so much cleaner and noticed the difference.
