Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

So, on to the important stuff. My initial review after listening to them for a few hours is that these things sound AMAZING! I'm using a Marantz 2225 receiver, a Technics SL-1200M3D turntable (with a mediocre cartridge to be honest), and a FiiO E9 headphone amp. They blow my HD-595s out of the water. They have a much fuller sounds, vastly improved bass. and an overall magnificent sound stage.
I'm happy to report that I've had no major issues with them. The cable length problem is real and I hope Massdrop and Sennheiser address this (its not 6 foot. Its 4 foot). I listen to my records while sitting at the desk in my office and I need about 6' of cable to get from my headphone amp to my desk. This unexpected shortcoming is definitely impacting me. I'm not going to let this bother me too much since the longer cables are easily obtainable, easily attachable, and not expensive. And I bet Massdrops addresses this issue since its not what they advertised. Considering the quality of these amazing headphones and the absurdly low price, a short cable isn't going to kill my buzz. I'm really happy right now. Thanks Massdrop and Sennheiser.
