K-JayYou think they are going to send the reviewers defective products? The ones they received were probably prototypes made from hand picked parts by the manufacture to prove quality to Massdrop who then sent them out to the reviewers. As an example, you can tell that Linus received and early version based on the fact that when he shows the back of the monitor, it is missing the 2 stickers ours came with.
MrMarblzPlayed the entirerty of Inside (can’t recomend enough) on it, and the bleed was a constant annoyance, though it was made worse by the game being pillarboxed.
MrMarblzmine is like that - but looking directly head on axis its actually way better. That and the out of the box brightness is wayyy to high - should be at around 55. That should lessen the bleed.
browncoreGood luck. My replacement was just like yours.
I'm waiting on the 3rd monitor. I told them that I'm OK with them opening and testing the monitor before sending, but I was told that they can't do that. I've been really happy with MD's support, but pretty disappointed in the quality of the product.
I'm honestly having a hard time believing those numbers Massdrop published about the issues with the current batch. The backlight bleed is pretty bad on both of my monitors, I'm wondering how this could be missed in their testing. Even my friend's 6 year old daughter noticed it and asked why there are spots on the screen.
Massive17Just a follow up on mine; my original monitor that arrived damage had terrible backlight bleed, as bad as the ones you guys linked and in the same spots. It was damaged so I got a replacement and the replacement has zero backlight bleed, so I'm happy I got lucky with that. I like playing space strategy games like Stellaris a lot and light bleeding through in that game would just completely ruin it..
Good luck to you guys, hoping there aren't too many with this issue.
browncoreI just got my 3rd replacement and it has the same exact light bleed in the same exact place. Between me and you there are 6 monitors with horrible back light bleed and MD is reporting only 12 out of the whole batch had some sort of issue.
I even asked them to open and check it before shipping to save the trouble of sending it to me and me having to send it back.
