Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. I already own. Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro 250, a Sony MDR-V6 and sold a brand new pair of AKG 240 mk 2's so I could buy the 533s. Now these are available. I only have one head and really shouldn't buy every sexy new set of cans that are offered.
My point (finally) why should I join this drop if I already own a very nice set of headphones in the dt 990 pros and potentially the 533 pros. Are these significantly better - or just subjectively a little more of this and a little less of that.
Ps i am also looking to upgrade my recently purchased and decent Fiio E17K ALPEN 2 USB DAC Headphone Amplifier as it just doesn't seem to have enough to drive the dt 990 pros at 250 ohms
On the topic of audio subjectivity, it's best to try out headphones at local stores before committing. The M50xs are wildly popular but were crapped on by z reviews haha, so it depends on what you want individually
