There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. We've been talking about how to kick off custom products in Men's Style for most of this year, and one of the biggest challenges was finding the right brand to partner with for our first project. Allen Edmonds is a big name in the menswear scene (and for good reason), and they've been great to work with on this project from the beginning. Many of you might know Paul, the CEO of AE, from his frequent internet appearances (like his recent reddit AMA), so when I talked with him about designing a product exclusively for the online community, he was very receptive.
From there, I worked with designers at AE and members of the online menswear community to tweak existing styles and cater them to the tastes of the community. I'm very happy with the result, and I'm excited to share them with you here, for a great price.
Huge thanks to the AE team, Fok at Styleforum, and all the folks that helped me get this project off the ground. Looking forward to many more to come! I'll update my post with more important info as it comes in.
