I'm a knife noob, but I recognize that it looks like Damascus steel yet it is AUS-10 (this is mentioned in the description). So, my question is why make it look like Damascus if it isn't? Is that not kind of off-putting? I'm just curious about knife-persons' opinion.
Cheers mate. The advice is really helpful. I really appreciate the followup.

I was just about to make a comment about the nickel myself. As a person with a nickel allergy, I don't know why companies keep using it in products. An estimated 10-20% of people have nickel allergies. Fewer people are left-handed.

Just a disclaimer that you should probably include. Apogee dont support the free sharpening outside of America.

So, tell me how this is different from the Massdrop x Apogee kiritsuke drop that reported many QC issues.

Hi Jonas, what exactly qualifies for opening up a ticket? Mine has the tang cavity as well as a warped blade.

If you buy Apogee knives, they are made in Japan. However, all the Massdrop x Apogee knives are made in China. The only thing that Apogee does in this collaboration is the designs and thats it.

Dude, it literally says manufactured in China. How are they gonna QA this in Japan?

How does free sharpening work? If I have to pay for shipping somewhere, I may as well pay for sharpening locally.

Any idea when these knifes will be available again? I just picked up the Kiritsuke and joined the drop for the Nakiri. It'd be nice to round out the set.
