Okay, I have to ask as I had such an appalling failed drop with a J. Fitzpatrick drop a few months ago. Shipping date suggests these are already made and in MD’s warehouse. My question is... are these shoes returned stock from the previous drop a year ago (look down the comment section, massive sizing errors) where they’ve been sitting in the warehouse all this time and are simply being re-distributed to new customers? In which case the shoes would not be in new condition due to their original owners handling and trying them on. Clarification would be great as I have had big issues with MD’s inconsistent trade practises. I am indeed interested in this drop but will not commit till I know these aren’t recycled stock. Thanks in advance. K.

K-ManAside from shopping around to see if a drop is in fact a deal and deciding whether or not you're willing to pay and wait for shipping--which can feel like forever sometimes--I've learned one huge thing about buying from Massdrop: don't spend what you aren't willing to risk.

threewishmonkeypawI totally agree. Weighing all the facts, it’s definitely a saving compared to what we pay here (Aus). I’ve bought quite a number of things from MD but the last MTO pair of shoes left a real sour taste and MD were very sub-par as to their response. Plus after reading the below comments from the last drop I got concerned with the reason why these aren’t MTO this time round. Hence reaching out in the comments for clarification.

K-ManThanks for pointing it out, I almost bought one until I read this. From the looks of it and the way they phrased the availability, i'd say it's most likely the returned items from last drop which are sold at a new price. Unlikely to make the purchase at this point unless they clarify things accordingly.

K-ManWasn't it the case that the customers from the first drop didn't have to return their shoes? Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't read everything.

whitetigerbloodYeah that was the case but that didn’t seem to happen till a little while after so quite a few would’ve been returned. Regardless, I personally just need clarification then I’m all over this drop!

K-ManTotally with you! Wishful thinking on my part that everyone kept their wrong size. Hopefully someone as MD answers your questions for all of us.

K-ManHey guys... Good news regarding the drop. Got a reply from MD and here's a section of it: "Additionally, it's against federal shipping laws to sell returned items unless they're advertised as such. That means that unless the drop page specifically says these are returns or refurbished items (which we do have drops like this from time to time), these shoes will be new and unused." Guess the drop is a go! Glad I wasn't the only one concerned about this. Cheers, K.

K-ManThat's great but here's the problem. I assume these aren't MTO? The drop ends on 19th so..... does that mean the shoes are already made and ready to be shipped ?

bryanljsProbably safe to assume these aren't MTO and are already made hence why I had my concerns about it being returned stock. Maybe Carmina had made extra pairs for MD during the sizing debacle? Who knows... MD probably just recycled the original drop page (with the MTO description) instead of making a new one. I've got the assurance in writing so if they show any signs of creasing or damage due to previous handling I'll be asking politely for a full refund. At this point we can only trust what they wrote to me to be true.

K-ManHey, have you gotten your pair? How is it? Are they brand new?

bryanljsYes! I’ve gotten my pair and apart from the box being a little torn, everything was packaged nicely and shoes appeared to be unworn and crease free. Nothing to complain about! In fact they came in JUST in time for a big event the following night. Very happy with them. 👍👍
