For 4-5 hours or more every day for many years I've been listening to HD650s through a Aune T1. I've been rolling a Gold Lion Russian Genalex 6922 and Mullard connected via USB through a decent desktop PC.
This new ZDT appears to be an excellent upgrade.
What would people consider to be a good reasonably priced DAC that would bring out the best of this ZDT paired with my HD650s taking into consideration my intention to upgrade to HD800s in the near future.
What would you suggest for cables that would complement this?
Also does anyone know if MD fixed their pricing glitch yet?
Thanks in advance for everyone's input.
As an aside, I tried the online demo (not the trial download) of Sonarworks to see what it would do to my HD650s and it did knock off some of what some refer to as the congenital sibilance, which is my biggest complaint with my current cans which they are known for. But not impressed. It took away more of the good side of the 650s than I liked. But it was only like a 5 minute toggle back and forth with...
So back to the tubes. Input appreciated.

With that said, remember that our warranty won't cover damage to your ZDT Jr. done by tube rolling.
I don't have an account there myself and I don't see myself ever needing one.
You can also purchase the tubes from Ebay but the tubes will likely source from Russia/Ukraine/Latvia
Also considering the direction I'm heading , which mods would best suit my HD650 HPs?
Given that I would be guaranteed to Fk them up if I attempted to do this, where can I send them to have the mods done? Looked over the HD650 thread on mods on SBAF and see no reference to which mod would best suit the amp and where I might send them to get them done.
Thanks for any help any of you fine people can provide... oh and screw the warranty. I won't stuff anything in the ZDTjr that didn't come recommended by one of you learned folk.
I am a tube newbie but sounds like a reasona approach with the Jr is to buy a few different brands of the same tube types and compare once amp is available. Tube sound differences can be marginal or not depending on the tube and amp and these differences could also be personal preference.
