PeroI’d like to hear from someone with experience with the Crux, on how that blade chill functions as a finger choil. Is it too small to be comfortable for the index finger without encroaching on the blade?
I hope a good grip can be achieved for XL hands without using that choil, but it’s good to know the options.

JamesMMI wear a large in gloves and the Crux is a perfect fit. The choil is optional and not really mandatory like the Falcon's.
The choil works fine but it is slight weird shape doesn't really bother my finger though.

JamesMMThe choil is design more for sharpening the blade than actual use when cutting, or that’s how I’ve heard the Ferrum Forge guys explain it.

PeroThanks to everyone responding. It is just that I don't like choils. I like blades designed for maximum cutting lenght while just gripping the handle. (and I would want to try a full size knife of this brand if it had that design aspect)

PeroI'm with you. The new ZT 0609 is outstanding in this respect. Despite being somewhat small and slim, it provides a substantial grip even for XL hands, and the cutting edge is maxed out for the handle size.
I appreciate a forward choil when it makes a small, pocketable handle viable, like the Spyderco Chaparral.
The Crux looks like the handle provides enough grip on its own. The choil looks overly generous for a sharpening choil, but if overall the cutting edge is long enough, it may be fine. I'm still waiting for my Gent to arrive but may pull the trigger on this drop. I really like the new finishes. I'd hope to find a good aftermarket deep cary clip.

JamesMMThe choil was too small for me. So I routed mine out to a size similar to the Falcon. Posted some pics earlier, but will drop another here also.

JamesMMThat ZT is sweet indeed and if you do decide to get this one I hope you will enjoy it. That Gent has style for sure. For now I'll wait for the one that seems perfect to me.
