1) All members who file support tickets due to bending or breakage will be offered the new version as a replacement at no charge. They are not yet available, but we do expect they will arrive sometime in March (WE Knife, and most Chinese factories, are closed for the New Year holiday during much of February.) We've heard that some members got conflicting information from our support team, so if you feel that you should get a replacement under warranty, please do let us know by replying to the same thread, or opening a new ticket and we'll take care of you.
2) Any members who simply prefer the new clip will be offered the discount as previously described, after we have shipped all of the clips needed as replacements.
3) If you would prefer to get a replacement clip sooner, we should have about 125 original style clips available later this month. Clips are generally recognized by knife manufacturers and consumers as “wear and tear” items. While we stand by our warranty for the Falcon and all knives, you should expect some stipulation in future drops regarding a limited time period for no-cost replacements on pocket clips only. There’s a very good reason that almost every major manufacturer offers them for sale separately, and that a whole niche industry of aftermarket clips exists.

And here is my Gent just out of the bath. It's pretty bright. But after some pocket time and handling, it's much more subtle.
This is the closest thing to the method I used
But just for fun, here is my original setup. I didn't even submerge the parts. Just had a tiny peice of cloth in one clip, dip it in the Coke, and used a "brush" method. My first few Knives I didn't even brake down. Since the process only affects titanium, it didn't matter if anything got on the steel or carbon fiber.
The machine I'm currently using is variable up to 3 amps. But no matter what I set it at, it self regulates whatever amperage is needed to maintain the constant voltage setting. There is really no need to whack the part with high amps, as it's the voltage that creates the interaction between the electrolyte and titanium. The higher the voltage, the more crystalline growth, that occurs.....Making the different colors seen through light refraction. Or so I am told. 😬 I'm not an expert by any means. Just a guy that read a few web sites, and watched some "how to anodize - for dummies" YouTube videos. 😁 If anyone sees errors in anything I've presented, please jump in and correct.
Somewhere here I posted a link to a bladeforums thread, that documents my journey from my first ano with a few batteries and coke. To some current knives done with a power supply purchased just for anodizing. My ZT 0450 became my introductory guinea pig. And I must say, I think it came out pretty good considering I was only doing 1/4" at a time. 😎
On the cathode side, everyone says to use stainless steel. Though I have used aluminum foil with success also. As well as spoons and forks and such). Currently using a steel kitchen ware bowl with a plastic strainer inside to keep the parts from touching. It has been suggested many times in demo videos to make sure the cathode (my stainless bowl), has a larger surface area than the anode (Ti part). I think I remember needing a much longer dwell time for full color, when I experimented with smaller rolls of aluminum as the cathode (connected to the negative side).
while this is somewhat true, out of my collection of many manufacturers, I have never had a knife clip fail on me before this, let alone within one month of only using it handful of times. I get what you are saying here but the fact is these clips were poorly designed and not thoroughly tested before mass production.
I appreciate taking care of the replacement clips instead of making us pay $$$.
Every time I try to file a customer support claim, I'm told you don't have my email on file. So, I try to enter it and send the message, but keep getting a msg saying "oops something went wrong". As i navigated here now, via a daily email you sent me, I don't understand.
I got a first run Falcon collaboration, and love the knife, but I got a bad pocket clip. So, I need the improved clip, as well as a couple of extra clip screws please. The original screw heads are a bit rounded out from taking the clip off to straighten it several times. I stole a clip that fit from another knife in my collection, so I can carry it, but in the grand scheme of things, that just really doesn't work for me.
Please advise me how to proceed.
I don't know why I keep getting g the "Oops" message, but I've tried to do as I'm told SOOO many times, I decided to try here and in the feed back forum. I know they aren't the proper channels, but something isnt clicking with my account.
