Finally, a pair of running socks that won’t wear out. They have a superpower: a blend of merino wool and Spectra fiber, whose durability, comfort, flexibility, and light weight are unmatched in the world of performance fibers Read More
Please consider a slightly taller version with a height like the "Massdrop x Fitsok Merino Hiker," or even a tad taller. I find those about perfect for general use, but cooler and more durable but still with some merino would be excellent for hot weather, and cycling in particular. (I dislike really short socks as my ankles get cold and/or sunburnt.)
Hello everyone!
I’m excited to announce the Massdrop x Fitsok Spectra Run Sock! We’ve been working with both Spectra and Fitsok for the last 6 months or so to bring you a thoughtfully designed, highly durable running sock. This sock has been tested to the extreme in the lab and out in the field to ensure it performs above and beyond.
Spectra yarns have existed for decades now and are not uncommon in the outdoor industry but they are most common in military and law enforcement use, being used for bulletproof vests.
Some exciting specs about Spectra yarns:15 times stronger than steelLight enough to float on waterNatural cooling touchPulls heat off the body naturally (great for a running sock!)
After thinking of ways we can utilize Spectra yarns, running socks naturally came up in the conversation given the extremely high quality of our key factory partner Fitsok. They specialize in running socks and have years of experience in what materials and compression should go where on the sock body to make the best overall running sock.
Currently, we are testing these socks at the internal labs at Honeywell’s facility and they are still ongoing, surpassing 80,000 cycles of abrasion testing as of the morning of July 13, 2018.
Our history working with Spectra began in January of 2018 while at the Outdoor Retailer show in Denver. We spent our time at the show meeting with current and potential brand partners, as well as materials and trims suppliers. Spectra kept coming up as a key supplier to partner with, which prompted our reaching out. The team at Honeywell in charge of Spectra have been great partners and are so fun to work with!
JAZONGI think that would be a great idea.... or, just don’t send out an email getting me excited thinking you restocked them, only for me to find out there is nothing for me. Drop.... offer us more socks... you obviously have no problems selling them.
Where can I find the "Lifetime Guarantee"? From the Fitsok website, their return policy is as follows:
If you are unsatisfied with your FITSOK purchase contact us for a return authorization number (RA#). Returns within 15 days of delivery are eligible for exchange, credit or refund. Returns over 15 days but less than 30 days from delivery date will be eligible for exchange or credit only. After 30 days from delivery date FITSOK will not accept socks for return.
How is that a lifetime warranty?
samhaldane@samhaldane I saw that. But note that the document does not state what is covered by the lifetime guarantee. That document is basically a meaningless piece of marketing. Is there something that has a little more bite?
Ballintoss@samhaldane is correct, it is the Specta yarns which makes this product unique and they are not a cheap yarn, thus the price increase vs the standard Fitsok running sock.
Have to agree I would hit the join button if they only a little taller. Been wearing taller socks so long they have rubbed all the hair off my monkey legs. Wearing short socks makes me look like I have white wall ankles! Maybe down the line...
I wear 10.5 4E and loved that the other Fitsok socks had 10.5 on the low end of the XL 10.5-12 size since 4E feet are bigger.
Unsure if I should go for the L or XL with these.
supahYou could go either way. I've been testing the medium and small (normally a medium) and they both fit well. The smalls are more snug but in a way I really like.
spiderbroThe merino and spectra are found in the toe and heel to offer the exact amount of support needed without having these be too expensive and overkill.
Please restock the large size!! These are the best socks I own and 2 pair are not enough. I'm sure I am not the only one that would love to stock up on these!
