I bought the original full length spectra's hikers when they first dropped last year and really liked them. As with those ones, you MUST order up one size. I'm a 12 to 12.5 and require XXL in the spectra Fitsox but only XL for the merino or cotton Fitsox. Hope that helps.
Wearin' them right now. They're fantastic. Haven't gone "running" in them specifically yet, but a couple slides down my apartment hallway on the hardwood floor has me pretty satisfied. They breathe a lot more than I thought they would too. Honestly great socks just for chillin' out. Very cozy.
I wear size US13 running shoe and I bought XL. Fits as it should. No signs of stretching after 3 runs so far, feels comfortable and no blisters during 10km runs in the middle of summer. It feels a bit smooth, which is great on flats, but when I am running downhill, the foot has a higher tendency to slide forward. I suspect the smooth middle arch area is causing this. Padding is on the heel and toe side mainly.
Now I dont know where the Spectra is located, but after two runs I noticed that the padded areas are starting to bunch up and fray a bit. These are the "high abrasion" areas, so I assume there's some Spectra there. Now the entire sock is still performing well, dinged one star as I was expecting it to be more like new after a few runs.
But fine.. still a good pair of running socks, but so far no better than my usual REI-branded socks. I'll revise this again after wearing it for a few more months. Durability unknown at this stage.
dufffaderIt is now November and reporting back how it is holding up. In short, not too bad, although cosmetically it look worn.
These pair of Spectra running socks are my default running socks now, and it works very well for it. Although you see some bunching up of fibre, it still feels like new when worn and running. I think I might be able to run with it all the way to Spring next year, which is not too bad compared to other brands I've used.
Just hope Massdrop stock up more popular sizes.
These are super comfortable, feel smooth and refreshing on my skin and are pretty smell and sweat resistant in my personal experience so far. I'm buying two 2-packs again so ill have a set of 6 to (almost) fill a week of use :D highly recommend!
I would advise buying a size up because these fit really small. I wear a size 13 so I ordered a XL. When I received them I was surprised how small they were.
geologisttimAre they still too small or have they shaped out to accommodate your foot? I'm a US 13 and on the fence between XL & XXL.
Thank you in advance 😊
These are very comfortable, well fitting, and very breathable. I'm slowly replacing all of my socks with them. I wear a size 12(us) and the M/L fits perfect.
I like the construction. Thicker in the right places, thin where I need ventilation.
Obviously, it is too early to tell about durability but I am happy with the purchase.
