Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Use Micca's Origen2 mostly, but have a Mojo to pull out when I listen carefully. At home, I listen to the Elear's through the HP out of my Mac 6900 int amp. Most of my daily listening is done on files I've recorded from my LP collection via TASCAM DA3000 recorder at 24/192 resolutions (rock, jazz, folk).
Auditioned the Utopia and the Clear, but conditions weren't such that I could have a good comparison. The Utopia stood out even so, but the Clear wasn't clearly better in general listening to the Elear. If the Utopia was $2K...I'd give it serious consideration. So sticking with the Elear for now. Also audioned the flagship Sony and the Ether Flow C with the Elears. Went home with the Focal. Much more engaging to my ears, and much cheaper.
I notice more of a difference if I use the Hugo 2, where the Utopias has a clearly greater ability to resolve detail from high-quality recordings. IMO I think the Elex are going to be the better match with the Mojo and the Massdrop-branded DAC/amps.
I should also say that while I've listened to both of these through a dragonfly red dac/amp, I have only had the benefit of a new Darkvoice when listening to the Beyers. It's possible I was doing the Elears a disservice.
Went ahead and ordered both Elex and T1ii
