First my pursuit in sound(music + vocals+movies +youtube+little bit games)quality is neutral or reference sound (but not fatiguing at all). For that I own many DACs ,couple of amp and many headphones as follow DACs Fiio e10k ,fiio e17k,fiio x3 2nd gen, jds labs odac rev b,jds ol dac usb+optical and finally grace sdac. HEADPHONE AMPS Fiio a3, fiio e12a,fiio k5, jds labs o2 HEADPHONES hd598se,hd439,hd 280 pro,ath m40x,dt 770 pro 80 ohm. Now I find SDAC✈O2 AMP✈DT 770 PRO 80 OHM Ends up my journey or my pursuits in sound quality. Any one enjoying same or different setup is welcomed for comments plz do comment👇👇👇👇 Reason for asking is I do settle down on dac and amp but open for one more headphone. Your comments will help me find one Thanks Particularly intrested in Hd6xx, hd58x, dt 880 pro 250 ohms Thanks in advance

I find only one dac in 100-300$ price range a little bit better from sdac is jds labs ol dac with optical in it sound perfectly right. I tried lot to hate it bu can't. For amp do consider jds labs atom at 99$.

Hey anyone own SDAC and JDS LABS OL DAC will plz share their thoughts on how they like one over other. I think ol dac is overall better dac at 139$ with optical input. Sounds great with optical input.

Enjoying it greatly. Huge difference between this and my D30 Dac. Magni 3 is my amp, using 6xx's. Sound: Better bass and separation between instruments. Sound-stage feels widened. The Topping D30 was ok but everything sounded "cloudy/foggy". It felt like I had to really pump the volume up to get real results. Tbh using my Magni 3 with my on-board sound was arguably better. I remember first plugging in the D30 and thinking "wow this sounds...odd?" I wasn't able to quite put my finger on it. In comparison the Grace feels awesome. Less volume for more results. My ears are thankful haha. Even in videogames I hear the difference. Sounds seem that little bit more accurate. Unfortunately I HAVE heard a few odd jitters while listening. In one song it sounded like it was cutting out for a few seconds. Upon going back to the same part of the song it was fine. Very odd. Possible cable issue. Will get a better usb cable and test it out. Build: Build quality is fine, simple black metal. Feels sturdy enough. Goes well with my black everything else desk haha. Verdict: Awesome :) If I ever upgrade will be looking at a Grace Design product.

Thanks mate! I've heard good things about the O2 amp but I actually have a JDS Labs Atom Amp on the way. Same company as the O2 and seemed like great value so yeah :) I still have to get a new cable so I might get the monoprice as well, see how that goes.

I am also planning to buy atom amp.i am realy curious how it compare to o2.

I own two of these and they are junk, which is too bad because the sound quality is significantly better than the built-in PC sound, and I like the form factor, especially when paired with the massdrop O2 Headphone amplifier. It lacks a power switch, and will frequently just stop passing out audio requiring that I unplug it and plug it back in. This is especially annoying when I'm using it with a conferencing application, as I have to reconnect to the meeting and miss out on content. Both of my units do this on several computers (I have one for work, and one for home). The one at home, and this is really hard to describe, will occasionally build up some static noise or feedback that gradually degrades the sound quality until it is rebooted. With both of these issues, my annoyance with them would be far lessened if the device had a power switch with which I could reboot the device quickly.

plz don't use dac with supplied cable get better cable

Would you pls be able to follow Bingo's advice and get a new cable to test it out and see if that helps?

Great unit with great audio specs and measurements. I have paired with a JDS Atom and am very happy.

Easy to use, no need for any drivers. Price is excellent. Seems to be built well enough, just the red LED can be a bit too bright at night. I cant hear any audible difference between this DAC and my Topping D50.

Works good with Dark Voice 336

As an Audiophile newbie, it really holds it's promise of being a great neutral "standard" entry-level DAC with great price/performance. I replaced my old mediocre internal sound card (some older Creative Soundblaster card) and can say it was absolutely worth it. Even with "standard" gaming headsets like the Sennheiser Game One the difference while listening music is clearly noticeable with a much larger soundstage and clearer overall sound. Sadly I am still waiting on my Sennheiser HD6xx drop to arrive (amplifier already arrived too) but I am certain it will be a great pairing when listening to my flac albums.

Great DAC for the price, of course anything I've ever gotten from Grace Design has been good. Easy hook up and the sound for listening from a computer is fantastic. Anyone wanting to get a decent DAC without breaking the bank, look no farther.

Unbeatable sound for the price, very impressed. I paired it with the O2 Amp and Sennheiser HD 6xx. Small, clean, minimalistic, and fits perfectly with the O2 amp when stacked. You can connect both speakers and headphones at the same time, but my only issue (hence the 4 stars since 4.5 isnt an option) is that there is no dedicated button to switch outputs. Meaning if you turn on your headphones but don't turn off your speakers, the sound will come from both at once. This may be a non-issue for most people but my spekers' power button is in an awkward position. Note also if you're pairing this with the O2 amp, that amp only has one output (meant for headphones), meaning you'll need to connect the speakers directly to the DAC, and so they will need to be active ones (have their own built in amp).

You had good headphone ,headphone amp and dac. What u r missing in your setup is preamp . So look at this product to complete your set up OL SWITCHER (ONLY PREAMP) OR 1.JDS LAB ATOM(HEADPHONE AMP WITH PREAMP OUT) OR 2.MONOPRICE LIQUID SPARK(HEADPHONE AMP WITH PREAMP OUT)

simple DAC. USB in , RCA out. plug and play on windows 10. it has a good clean sound the fit finish of the box is acceptable. i had a few issues where it would just stop playing a signal for 1-2 seconds then come back. it did theat for about a week then it has worked flawlessly.

Not bad given it’s low price just don’t buy it to use with an iPad or iPhone,It doesn’t work even if you use Apples usb3 cck.

I am using the DAC in a system playing a combination of MP3's MP4's , AAC and FLAC files. It is fed into a NAD C316BEE and Ascend Acoustics Sierra 1's! I LOVE THE IMPROVED SOUND! There is a huge difference from the audio output jack on the computer BUY one of these - you will not be disappointed!

Having a few DACs in my stable, I think the SDAC is best compared to the Topping D10. Both offer compelling sound quality for under the $100 mark, but are differentiated by their I/O, file support and DAC chips, and less so by the quality of their sound. While the D10 may have the edge in dynamics, linearity (besides the ESS hump) and clarity, the SDAC is more smooth, listenable over long periods of time, and generally more forgiving with hardware pairings. Both are competent however the D10 has more connectivity options as well as DSD support. Subjectively, the SDAC is more reserved and may blend in with a system easier, while the D10 has an informative display screen which will either look endearing or tacky. Can't go wrong with either... and can't go wrong owning both! Notes:
  • FLAC files spanning hiphop, electronic, jazz, rock and classical
  • Tested with the Sennheiser HD580 and Beyerdynamic T1.2
  • Source is a Macbook playing via MusicBee
  • Amps tested are both the Liquid Spark and SAP-II

If I target neutral or reference sound which one u suggest. I am using with sdac+jds labs o2

Honestly quite hard for me to suggest. Everyone will hear slightly differently. Best to audition if you can, as well as read impressions by several people.

Just purchased, I've been using the SDAC for several days now. Setup: Definitely a positive upgrade for the M10 system. I've found the harshness in treble notes taken out, and vocals in particular are more vibrant. I would say that both systems (the Grace SDAC and the M10) are fairly clean/neutral but adding the SDAC gave the sound additional warmth without taking away clarity or depth. I'm not a hard core audiophile so I wasn't sure if this -- or any -- DAC would make a difference but really happy with the improved sound. I consider this a really great value given the simple plug-n-play setup, clean design, and -- most importantly -- the meaningful upgrade in sound quality.

Sounds great and has a very beautiful chassis. Paired with the Massdrop O2 amp.

This is really a great little DAC even without considering the price. The presentation of music is very clean and natural; just a nice full-bodied sound that is relaxing and enjoyable. The only thing this DAC could potentially do better is increased micro details (tested against a Schiit Yggdrasil, a DAC about 20 times the price), but even the most critical of listening won't really reveal this unless in a direct A/B comparison, and I honestly doubt one could tell the difference in a blind test. Setup was dead simple on my PC running Windows 10; plug and play. Highly recommended*. *note: I am running it with a USB decrapifier; it improves the sound by presenting a blacker blackground and better transients and microdynamics, with better imaging and soundstage. Still recommended even without the use of a decrapifier (you can always get one later).
