I never heard HiFiMAN and can see its compared alot to sennheiser. I dont really like the sennheiser sound that I have heard (not at home or on a familiar setup tho) but I love my AKG 601, will these be anywhere near those in openess and "3d" so they rock in games aswell?

GriffDeLaGriffI don't think anyone can answer this accurately yet since very few people have tried them, and most who have were paid to do a review (afaict). They should be similar though since the 601 and HFM are both open back & dynamic, with large drivers. I love my AKGs (K7xx and K553) but I'm trying these out because they're $99 and can be a gift to someone if I don't like them enough to keep. HiFiMAN has a good reputation and I'm assuming they don't want to ruin it by selling us crap, but you never know...$99 is a safe gamble.

wontonotnowYeah, but im thinking about people having the 300 and the 400, and these shouldnt be like a totally different sound right? So basically its for my GF who has been needing to use closed phones bc kids in the same room, but kids have grown up so shes alone in that room now and listenes to music and draws and also plays games. She has had the Ultrasone HFI-780 and I get these are alot different, but I use my AKG 601 for games and although not as fun for rock music they are superb for vioolins/acustic/blue/voice and also for gaming! So if the sound-flavour of HiFiman is near AKG then these will be pretty good for the money as an allround phone?
I guess basically what im asking is if the fact they are open will make them pretty good nevertheless, and also just that they arent too sharp/thinn/hard for gaming and allround music.

GriffDeLaGriffAKG are very distinct. They have that large soundstage, and "airiness," but the bass take a hit. That's why the K7xxs got that bass boost that ate into the mids a bit. I wanna say before you look into Hifiman's sound, look at this gamer guide and select headphones in your price range, and then come back to the few reviews here about the HE350s. Your AKGs might be on here as well, I haven't checked in a while. The only reason I mentioned the "gamer and guide" was because you mentioned 3D, those positional cues and accuracy. You'd probably be better off with planar because of the speed and when sounds instantly appear instead of stereo.
