Any concrete reviews/ comparisons of this yet? I'm looking for a nice pair of open backs in this price range, but the 598's seem like less of a gamble.

locke9342As of now, I've only seen 2 videos and 1 review on Headfi. I wanna say the 598s are less of a gamble, but the price fluctuates so much on those. If you wait it out, they might hit $99 again.
The HE350s here do have a pro though. Since they are Massdrop exclusives, it might be a while until they're dropped again and if reviews are favorable, you can actually come up if you resell on eBay. Since they'll only be limited to 5000, it's almost a monopoly for now. The same thing happened with the THX00s, people were flipping them on eBay for 50-100+.

KTMDThe review seemed really well done, but I didn't like how it kept saying it was treble heavy, even though that makes sense. I just didn't like it because I'm not sure if thats what I want. But i think the review is legit

fayoubloxIt's the exact reason why I picked this up, but it's just a shame that it probably wont be better than the entry level hifi signature HD 598, which can also be picked up at this price on sale. Since I always miss the sale, have to settle with this sure deal...
