Do these need amp?

phasesyncI'd say no. People shouldn't confuse impedance (unit: Ohms) with sensitivity (unit: dB/mW). I used to do that. In this case, the latter is the more important spec. In short, the higher the sensitivity the less power the IEMs/headphones need to reach your desired volume. At 100 dB/mW*, these should run fine from most phones/MP3 players/portable devices. In comparison the K7XX have a sensitivity of 93 dB/mW (with 62 ohm impedance). Based on sensitivity, you can see how those would benefit more from an amp. Even then I personally wouldn't say an external amp is "required" for the K7XX, though it helps. More so than full-sized headphones, IEMs are usually efficient which makes sense for portable usage. As for impedance, until that value starts getting in the 100s of Ohms I wouldn't bother too much about it, especially in this case; focus on sensitivity. But if you must, at least hear the IEMs first before considering any amps.
* Typically, IEMs and the more efficient full-sized headphones have sensitivities that are greater than ~100dB/mW.
