Some may claim these have balanced response, but that's wishful thinking. The bass is anemic, especially with the supplied triple-flange silicone tips. The Comply TX-500 tips I'm using now aren't a perfect fit, but they're an improvement. If any of you have suggestions on tips, please let me know. While a proper fit improves some aspects of the sound, these miss all over the place in ways that can't be fixed. The bass isn't just recessed, it lacks at least an octave. The upper middle and high end are metallic and harsh. There's never a point when you forget about these IEMs and disappear into the music. I guess I should be thankful I haven't had the QC issues others discuss, but while I'll continue to try these to see if they improve with time (something I haven't noticed with other IEMs), basically every other set I own has much more involving sound. I don't expect these to live up to high end IEMs, but these are blown away in every respect by my Sennheiser IE7s, which are truly neutral and balanced, the Thinksound MS02s that I got at about the same time is the Hifiman set, and even some old, very affordable Ultimate Ears. Honestly, these are an extremely disappointing purchase.
