Product Description
Back in 2007, HiFiMAN released a line of earphones so impressive, it rocketed the still-new company to the ranks of some of the most respected names in the audiophile world. These debut products rivaled those from more established companies with 25 years of development behind them, and got the community seriously excited about what HiFiMAN had in store Read More

We are happy to announce that the production has completed and the order is already en route to our warehouse. The shipment is slated to arrive at JFK airport on September 13th. Provided that customs clearance goes smoothly, it should take two days for everything to be delivered to our warehouse, and fulfillment will begin towards the end of next week!
We'll keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/15 (September 15).

A bunch of us are annoyed by the ship date and we're just blindly bitching about it into this endless hole called the internet. It let's us randomly get it off our chest without targeting anyone. So what? Why does that PERSONALLY get so many of your panties bunched up?
What an odd community...
My post was prior to the announcement of delays and was aimed at those complaining that they didn't know about the original lead time... congratulations on adding to the plethora of inane posts here!

ElectronicVicesHaha yeah, it's a bit crazy. I really think part of it is the commenting system, it's quite hard to follow I find. I'd prefer a reddit style tree system

Thanks everyone for joining this drop! We’ve been in close contact with the manufacturer and the order for Massdrop x HiFiMAN RE-00 is under production.
Unfortunately, there was a delay in the shipment of parts from third party suppliers to HiFiMAN, which resulted in a production delay pushing the ship date back to September 30th.
To minimize the delay, HiFiMAN and Massdrop are splitting a $65,000 expense to upgrade the original sea freight shipping method to air freight. This additional expense reduces delivery time by 3-4 weeks, making it possible to ship by September 30th instead of what would have been October 30th.
We understand that this delay is undesirable. If you’d prefer to cancel your order for a full refund, please contact Community Support using the “Contact Support” button in your transactions page at http://massdrop.com/transactions. Otherwise production is tracking well (we’ve requested progress pictures, expect them in a future update) and your order will be heading your way by the new estimate shipping date of September 30th.
We’ll keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on July 29th.
Thank you for your continued support. These products are only possible because of the community and we appreciate your understanding.

You are either lying about the cost of air freight or getting ripped off.

kunalkumarLook, announcing a 2 month delay on a product we've already been waiting months for without any compensation for the users is just horrible business practice. Unless you can make some kind of other offer like a free set of earphones to hold us off during the wait period, expect half or more to drop out from this drop. You have until July 29th. Come up with a better offer or I'm cancelling my 2 orders. Thanks.

overwhelming negativity? how sad. i've had my original RE0 since maybe 2010, and I pulled one ear apart trying to get off the wrong comply tip once - but a toothpick and superglue fixed it. still.work.fine. cables are fine, i hang mine up, otherwise inclined to be a little kinky. really need the good seal i get with the comply for the bass, and a touch of eq, but the sonic reward turned me into a 'budding' audiophile. will help you appreciate good recordings, and snicker at poor ones. just got a set of RE400a, and almost but not the cigar. oh - definitely benefit from a little extra power. bought an E5 and E6 originally, and made a world of difference with the Clip+. now it is the E18 and the S4. yeah, the knurling is a little rough, but once the scar tissue in your ears develops... WHA? gimme a break!! the RE0 started over $200, never went under $80. think of this drop as $35 for those $200 buds. really.

Thanks for the follow up impressions. I haven't had any build issues with mine either. And I agree that the midrange clarity does put them something above the price that MD is asking. I guess you could say they've grown on me some.

SemicolnWell, it _was_ fun to go back and shake that tree, and realize I wasn't just imagining these being decent buds. My only 'problem' is that, since getting them in 2010, two things have happened. One is technology has progressed and performance is moving further up in the 'affordable' IEM market. I'm liking my hybrids better than these, and they cost the same, for instance. Those Final Audio you referred to - when you get them 8-Þ - will very likely resolve better, and have better presence. Certainly a higher price, though, but still 'reasonable'. Besides the advances in technology, though, my experience since then has broadened. These RE00 - and the RE-400, etc. - are nice for the price, but I want more. I have headphones now that totally blow me away - at a MUCH higher price, admittedly - and are my new reference point for everything else. I want Joni Mitchell breathing in my ear, caressing the piano keys, breaking my heart. These don't really do it. I'll be looking for IEMs that do, but budget will probably slow the search. Maybe the FADs will come close. May be similar to Etymotic. I'm casually looking at UE 900s and the like, maybe go gentle with 1More Triple. Probably my wife will kill me before it happens! C'est la vie.

You are literate and professed in memes. Nightcore and Chinese cartoon message board. I heartily laughed.
I think most of us have done some customer service work in our lives. And hopefully it was practicing good customer service. I can tell you've never worked a service job or simply did so badly. And hey if you never did, more power to you. You're lucky and that's awesome.
But customer service is vital to business and customer perception. Any promise now made void to the customer isn't the customer's fault. You act like it is. And then you insult me and others and basically everybody buying this drop because it's all powered by greed and exploitation of abused people. Which ironically is defaming Massdrop. That is what you did in that paragraph. Edit it if you want. So you defend them for relatively poor customer service but then basically preach against their entire practice. Who side are you on? Are you here to troll? I'm guessing so with the 2nd rate memes you pulled out to make some kind of point. If I wore a fedora like you I would tip it towards you, good sir. Grow up I want to speak to an adult.
But in all seriousness I love Massdrop and the idea that it offers and what it does for the audiophile community and how it's helped us grow. However I'm also appreciative of good customer service too. I never 'hated' on Massdrop and even if I had why would it upset you so much? Please straighten out that tight collar and have a look at the most successful online business models, ones that promote great customer loyalty through great customer service, such as Amazon.
Massdrop always fulfills the item and I've never had a problem there. For those who have they always make it right. Most of us have experienced delays and are gracious about it. We're not asking for more gain through an extended wait. But when we ask, "Hey it's been over a month what's up?" We're attacked.

UzuzuI don't think most people are attacking those who are just asking "where's my stuff?" It's those who are having a hissy fit over a manufacturing/shipping delay that is not Massdrop's fault. They are expecting normal retail service from a site that is not normal retail to begin with and on a product that is being custom made from scratch. If this were Amazon having to push out a shipping date so far, that would be unacceptable. Also, if this was a premade product and this happened, that would also be unacceptable. But neither of those things are true. In fact, you really can't even truly say this is a customer service problem, at least not on Massdrop's end. They notified us of the problem, kicked in money to help alleviate it and gave everyone the option of a refund if they didn't want to wait. That's really better customer service than they were obligated to provide. I don't think this needs to be turned into a human rights issue, but as adults certainly we should be able to deal with and express our disappointment over the delay of a nonessential to living luxury product in a more polite and refined manner. It's the same lesson I'm teaching my 13 year old son. It's fine to be upset or mad, but it's not acceptable to throw a fit about it. Learning to deal with delayed gratification is essential. If you don't possess that skill than perhaps a more typical retail store is more suited to you.
Here's the RE-350 picture from Will. As I mentioned in the RE-00 discussion, Will said that he'll come back and do a video for all of you. It was difficult to upload a good quality video from China because the wifi was slow where he was.

It's Massdrop, not a store. Everyone is complaining too much. Their track record is pretty decent. If you want an assured delivery time pay full price on Amazon. You get a lower price for less assurance on delivery. Fair enough.

Shunyata00Actually mass drop is definitely categorized as an online store, therefor a "store". And like any other store, our jobs as customers is done. we paid for something that was suppose to be shipped August 3, manufacturing isn't our problem. I don't give 2 shits how their making it, that's their issue. I care about my money being wasted when I could have just gone to Best Buy and bought some headphones.

LueilNThe problem with your logic is that you COULDN'T have gone to Best Buy and bought THESE headphones. I can only speak for myself, but I assume most other buyers chose to get in on this drop because of what specific headphones these are- the quality and the fact that these are being offered exclusively by Massdrop. They are literally being made just for us. You can't buy them anywhere else. If you don't appreciate the quality and exclusivity of these specific headphones, you're missing the entire point. If you just wanted nice headphones there were several other models being offered at the same time that were already made that you could have gotten from a good price with a short wait or you could have paid retail price for any set out there and gotten them immediately. Yes, I'm disappointed by the extra wait. But I'm willing to wait to get this specific product, available nowhere else and quite possibly never again made. If you just want headphones, quit bitching and go to Best Buy. They will sell you some shitty overpriced Beats in a hot second.

Hi all! I wanted to leave you with my thoughts on these IEMs so here it goes: Hahaa I lied - first a bit of backstory! My previous IEMs were the Xiaomi Piston 3. Why was I using those mediocre IEMs? Coz my Ety ER 4S finaly died after a couple of years of abuse. Now then - onto the RE00s. I bought them as a primary IEMs hoping to like them as I didn't want to drop 300 bucks for new ER4s ... Read some stuff, people said these were great - good highs, relatively flat sound etc... I took the plunge! Packaging: "Ohhh my RE00s arrived! What ... wait ... why is this box so small? Huh ... well that's not encouraging ... Ok what do we got here... Ok the IEMs, 2 sets of plugs (1 double-flange, 1 normal) ... Ok where's the rest? Where are my foam plugs?! WHERE IS THE POUCH!?" - Disappointing. Well that said - it looks like they were cutting costs like Amy Winehouse cuts herself ... (Too dark? Sorry ...). Fit and Comfort: As ever your mileage may vary. I like them. Normal plugs work great on my ears, double-flange are a bit big for me. Fit is good, noise cancellation is great - not ER 4S teleport to a different universe great but great nonetheless. No ear pain no fatigue from wearing. Build quality: So far so good. Cable could be better but I do take care of them so no problems there. Housing looks solid although I've seen some dead RE00s thanks to its housing. Again I take good care of them. So far I haven't had any BQ issues. Sound impressions: I put them on and listened to Hotel California and Bohemian Rhapsody, listened to The Blue Danube, put some dubstep on, some Metallica, AC/DC, Blue Stahli and Disturbed. Thought to myself: "Huh these are pretty detailed ... nothing too special - very good for the money but nothing more than that". But then something happened - I let them burn in for ~20 hours... HOLY SHIT! These IEMs got my faith in humanity back again!
Detail: Again, HOLY SHIT! Almost in the same category with ER4s! No point in comparing them to the Pistons... Detail in the highs is awesome as well as in the lows. Mids though are a little tiny bit muddy. Maybe its me, maybe I'm mistaken but that is maybe the only thing that I would complain about in these IEMs. The sound is sharp, almost harsh, non vailed. I can hear each tiny breath of the artist, hear sounds that do not present on the Pistons - great detail.
Bass: Love it or hate it. If you like Beats or Momentum, you won't like these too much. Bass is tight (not as tight as the ER4s but close), non abundant, almost studio grade (some more sophisticated audiophiles may say I'm wrong and might be right but that's the best opinion I got , sorry). Another way to put it is - I gave these IEMs to my niece and asked her for an opinion. She didn't like them. She likes the included in the Samsung Galaxy line IEMs. That's a big endorsement for the RE00s in my opinion. She said they lack Bass in comparison, are too detailed and a bit harsh for her. My opinion though? Bass is awesome! A bit more then the ER4s which were lacking for a casual listener like me.
Mids: Already said - a bit muddy to my ear, lacking detail compared to the lows and highs. That said - they are miles above any 35$ IEMs but still a bit worse then the ER4s.
Highs: Awesome. Nothing more to add here.
Sound stage: Sorry I'm thorn here. I do like it, although it feels kinda small. Maybe I'm wrong here - take this with a grain of League of Legends (salt). Again I like it.
Can your phone drive them: Absolutely! Don't let the 64 Ohm scare you. Haven't tried amped. My SMSL isn't with me on my new address yet.
Conclusion: I remember when I had the ER4s and couldn't wait to go to work so I could listen to them for 20 min. Then couldn't wait for work to end to listen to them for another 20 min. When they died (I killed them ... don't call the cops pls) and I got the Pistons, most of the time i forgot to even put them on. Now after I got these I feel the same way as with the ER4s. I can't wait to put them on. Sound is detailed, not exaggerated or colored to any extent compared to popular headphones (Beats, Momentums etc.). Not as flat as ER4s but (to my ear at least since I don't have my ER4s to compare them directly, I'm going by memory) close enough. Awesome bass for my taste, good mids (could be a bit more forward and detailed), awesome highs.
Do I recommend them? HELL YEAH! For the money I honestly wouldn't believe you if you told me there is a better IEM on the market. Even at 100$ I don't think there is too much competition if any. Just ... Just look after them please. If you go by the testaments of other people on the drop, you really do have too try and look after them so you don't break them.

MasterYocoPeople might say it has no bass because its not lingering ear-shattering bass (like pistons). Please do not expect that. It's tight real tight. If you get a good fit on these IEMs you will be able to feel a deep and tight bass. If you dont get a good fit you wont hear even a iota of a bass response!
