Size comparison in case anyone is wondering about fit issues. From LEFT to RIGHT - Westone UM Pro 10, Campfire Lyra II, MEE P1, Campfire Jupiter, LZ A4, Trinity Master. Don't mind the weird finish on the CFA IEMs, I coated them with a layer of rubber spray & it's starting to peel. I find the P1 to be the most comfortable with its size & shape combination.
rantnggreat collection, can you tell us a little comparing jupiter , trinity master with p1? i know 1 is BA, 1 is hybrid , 1 is dynamic. just want some layman comparison.
i am more to Pop song . MJ, maroon 5 kind. TIA
PauerI used Plastidip spray. I covered up the nozzles (and bass port on the Lyra II) with teflon tape & applied several layers. With the aluminum shells they were cold when inserting in the ear. Also, I wanted to protect the finish & it was always unnerving when the shells would 'clack-clack' against each other.
t-coroUnfortunately/fortunately(?) I have too many IEMs and haven't had a chance to listen to the A4 beyond the initial first listen. They haven't even been burned in yet with maybe 15 minutes of use.
rantngi have a pair of vega, and its super durable, i think the lyraII has the same alloy shell? what felt delicate about them that you felt the need to rubberize or plastidip them?
jersey_boyNot so much with the Lyra II, I know it has the same liquid metal shell as the Vega. I noticed some of the finish on the Jupiter was starting to wear; call me anal but I just wanted to preserve it & I figured I'd spray the Lyra II as well.
t-coroP1 offers clarity, balance and resolution. The A4 is slightly warmer and more musical. It has deep sub-bass rumble and punch. It also has a wider soundstage, but less isolation due to the filter system. I used the red filter w/blue nozzle. These are both different sounding IEMs. One of my main reasons for not listening to the LZ A4 up to now would be comfort & fit issues. They're unconventional shape isn't as secure as the bean shape of other IEMs. At the $199 price point, I can see more people opting for the A4 as it is the more musical of the two. At the price of $113 for the P1, I'd say it really depends on what you're looking for in an IEM. a more fitting comparison for the A4 might be the Trinity Master.
