I want a different option with a pre-assembled keyboard
There are only three configurations we're offering for pre-assembly (available in MIT or Grid):
* Black case / Tactile switches / Black alphas with white mods
* Navy case / Clicky switches / White alphas with black mods
* Silver case / Linear switches / White alphas with black mods
Selecting options other than "N/A assembled keyboard selected" will cause errors - if you want a different combination, you'll need assemble things yourself and select "Planck Light Kit"
Are parts from the Planck Light compatible with the regular Planck?
Unfortunately not! The Planck Light has a smaller grid spacing to match Kailh's keycaps
Is the Planck Light compatible with MX or Matias switches?
Nope - just Kailh's PG1350 switches
Are there any other keycap options?
Because of how new these switches are, Kailh is currently the only manufacturer of them, so we have limited options!
What color is the PCB?
Matte black with gold traces
What chips are on the PCB?
One at90usb1286 (128KB flash memory), and two IS31FL3731 chips
What about the FCC stuff?
The Planck Light will be tested for part 15 compliance, and this has been built into the timeline!
Is the 2u key in the center actually Enter?
It's space, and will be blank in the shipped keysets :) (Enter was a 2u key in the demo kits we got)
Will this support MIT and Grid layouts?
Yeap! Both are supported by the PCB and LEDs, and all keysets come with the correct keys for both
What about a stabiliser for the 2u key?
I didn't think one was needed for the 2u key, and unfortunately we don't have any option to include one at this time
Is there a plate?
No plate! None's needed with this construction
The pre-assembled options will be available in MIT and Grid :)

jackhumbertWhy is there no White + White or Black + Black for the keycap options?
Im not a big fan of the mixed cap color look, it be nice to have options.
It’s not too bad honestly. The only bit of advice I’d give you is to watch a couple videos and to make sure you don’t leave the iron on the electronics any longer than you have to
Nice! I have an old OLKB that was the first thing I learned to solder on. Though @10$ more it’s way cheaper to buy the board preassembled than to buy all the soldering stuff. This board looks dope.
jackhumbertJack, will you offer plates on your site? I understand it's not needed, but it makes a build feel more complete to me. I also hope Kailh will eventually release s, f, and j caps without homing bumps for the non-Qwerty users.
jackhumbertreally excited by this, had to order it
if someone was interested in switching their black modifiers for my white ones, message me. the blank keys on novelkeys are not translucent, and the black modifiers of the whole key set sold by novelkeys are not all going to fit. thanks!!
MrBreakfstno idea what you are showing me, am i missing something obvious? see the tab, the caps lock, the alt, backspace... they won't fit an ortholinear layout like i was saying.
jackhumbertJack aren't you making things harder for yourself and others by having only mixed colored alphas and modifiers? There is a resounding demand for uniform colored alphas and modifiers as an option in this discussion. It doesn't make sense that you would pay for a premium keyboard then go through the hassle of finding and trading keycaps with someone else.
jackhumbertThe video mentions an optional plate but at the end of your post you say there is no plate? Does that mean that the plate is not shipped with the kit?
