Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I don't trust Massdrop due to false advertisement and they are eager to sell many as they can. It says "Based on the Sennheiser PC 373D, the Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X features the same exceptional audio and microphone quality, with some key tweaks to make it even better. " I can agree that the sound quality is decent, but minor tweaks and the microphone quality is a lie. It's pure marketing.
This PC37X model came from PC37D as it says in the description. PC37D is technically the same as Sennheiser Game One headset. Major difference between PC37D and Game One is the mic quality and volume adjustment. Game One has better volume adjustment and mic quality. It's a bit muddy. Even the PC36D has better mic quality. After all, it's a "Gaming" headset. Not an audiophile headphone with high quality mic. If you already have a decent headphone and you're looking for a great microphone then I recommend you ModMic 5.0 from Antlion Audio.
I don't know why TheSkeleton would even bother to compare a gaming headset mic with Audio Technica AT2020+. AT2020+ is a pure professionally built microphone used by many (Not focused on gaming nor a headset).
And yet it sounds like this mic isn't bad for coming with the headphones at this price. Choice is simple. 2 unit solution or a single unit.
