Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. We’re checking in to let you know the Massdrop x Tokyo Keyboard Tokyo60 Keyboard Kit is making its way through production!
I also wanted to share some updates and fixes we've made to the keyboard in the meantime. If you checkout the profile shot of the keyboard in the drop page, you'll notice the top and bottom casing doesn't meet perfectly. We've made some updates to the design and you can checkout some of the photos of the update below.
We’re on track to meet our estimated ship date of August 16, and we’ll update everyone in early August with the status of the shipment.
And I am super excited for it. :)
