Holding the Mauviel M’Heritage frying pan, it’s immediately apparent the craftsmanship that went into it. At nearly 2 pounds, it’s hefty—but that heft is part of why it retains heat so well Read More
When researching comp prices for the cast iron handle version we have here I could not find anything below $199. If you find anything below the $99 price we are selling for please provide a link.
Anyone that got in on this drop feeling generous? I haven't always been the greatest grandson, and when I saw this I knew she'd love it, but I missed the drop, literally got my check a day after it was over.
I'd be willing to buy from someone who successfully ordered at a markup, let me know :)
My wife and I have this with the stainless steel handle and it is incredible. The copper heats very quickly and evenly, and the stainless steel finish does indeed work well for frying eggs so long as you provide enough butter. I recommend getting some Bar Keeper's Friend for occasional buffing (unless you want to get a real patina going).
Well email said the estimated ship date was 6/20/17, as of 6/8/17 however it's already on it's way and should be here by Monday (6/12/17). Good to see not everything takes ages on massdrop, it's been awhile since I've had something ship out well before the estimated ship date.
KabooseWell, as an update it arrived Today (6/10/17) 2 days before the estimated arrival date, and almost 2 weeks before the original estimated shipping date. It arrived in good shape, can't wait to put it to use. Has a great weight in the hand as well.
I used to import and sell similar deBuyer cookware for a company I worked for. I researched Mauviel extensively as it is one of deBuyer's main competitor and I can say that their cookware is exceptional. I'm guessing by the look of the handle that this is model is marketed more to professional chefs and the horeca industry.
This pan is a steal at this price and I will be joining the drop for one! :D
Does the heavy cast iron handle cause the copper pan to tip?
How resilient is this pan to bowing as a result of heating it?
I have a flat electric stovetop, so if the bottom bows and there is a heavy cast iron handle, I'm geussing all my liquids will move to one side if the pan tips a bit.
I am extremely interested in this pan. Thankyou to anybody that may answer my questions.
petkus331The pan itself is mostly made out of copper so just without the handle it is much heavier than most pans. Even though the handle is heavy it shouldn't tip the pan.
I don't know this for certain but I would bet on it based on the facts that this pan is from Mauviel and it looks like it is made for professional chefs.
